You know, I really like this series, but I really wish the author could increase the length of these books. it feels like they get shorter every time... could just be my enjoyment coloring my perspective though.

The second captivating installment of Aleron Kong's Chaos Seeds series. "We are life takers and heartbreakers," Richter shouted. "Let's go!" Richter and Sion are at it again! Even more of what you loved in the first book. Leveling, world building, awesome items, and what's that you say? Sure! Why not? What's a little necrophilia between friends? Join your favorite Chaos Seed as he answers the call of adventure and deals with the invaders, greedy dwarves, and a wood elf that keeps telling him he has a pretty mouth. Welcome back, my friends! Welcome back...to The Land.

After facing a hopeless siege, an implacable foe and an impossible escape, you would think that Minalan the Spellmonger would be able to rest - but the armies of the undead goblin shaman Shereul (known as the Dead God to his human victims) are rolling over the western reaches of the rustic Duchy of Alshar and is headed toward the heart of the Duchy of Castal. Thousands are fleeing for their lives as hordes of goblins pour out of Boval Vale and devastate the rugged fiefs of the Alshari Wilderlands.

When I was a kid, all of my dad's best books would be on the top shelf or his bookcase, and he would hand one to me, never letting me see it before hand. He always told me they were the best he had found in all he had read. I have no doubt this would be there.

Honestly, there's a lot of things I think the book could do better, but that doesn't make it bad. It starts off feeling good, but when the perspective starts switching around almost every chapter it just felt choppy to me. Not to mention that the side characters stories felt lack luster with very little to draw you to them.
Over all the story in and of itself is strange to me in a way. Power development feels out of place considering the world. In a "He's the main character so he is special and can do things other people can't without even really trying," kind of way.
