Forstchen ends this three book story with the hope for a new government. I thoroughly enjoyed his story because I am a student of military history and the individuals who are destined to repeat their training as they face new challenges. This story was especially interesting due to living in Western N.C.

Great job of telling the next segment. Only suggest that the narrator learn to pronounce the names of southern towns. Still enjoyed following the area as the story unfolds. Beucatcher tunnel, Asheville Mall, even the traffic circle near the courthouse reveals this author is a local boy. Looking forward to book 3.

Already cited on the floor of Congress and discussed in the corridors of the Pentagon as a book all Americans should read, One Second After is the story of a war scenario that could become all too terrifyingly real. Based upon a real weapon - the Electro Magnetic Pulse (EMP) - which may already be in the hands of our enemies, it is a truly realistic look at the awesome power of a weapon that can destroy the entire United States.

I live in WNC. i know many of the places mentioned in the story. i know Black Mountain and Montreat College very well. I even know the back roads and dirt roads that the posse supposedly used on the attack. I was captivated by the story. I teared up with the loss of Jennifer and the loss of both goldens. I will read the rest of the series and hope to meet the author in Black Mountain. Great Read!

Something sinister is going on in Baronville. The rust belt town has seen four bizarre murders in the space of two weeks. Cryptic clues left at the scenes - obscure Bible verses, odd symbols - have the police stumped. Amos Decker and his FBI colleague Alex Jamison are in Baronville visiting Alex's sister and her family. It's a bleak place: a former mill and mining town with a crumbling economy and rampant opioid addiction. Decker has been there only a few hours when he stumbles on a horrific double murder scene.
