Lilah Love's latest case is making her head spin. It’s a string of brutal assassinations carried out across the country, each tied to a mysterious tattoo. Body by body, she’s followed the clues all the way back to her hometown. And every step of the way, the killer has been following her. Beneath the glamour of the privileged Hamptons community is a secret long buried but never forgotten. It’s bigger than Lilah. It’s powerful enough to escape the reach of the FBI. And it’s more personal than anyone can imagine. Because it’s hiding in Lilah’s own past.

What did you love best about The Chemist?

the choice of characters

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

I would reduce the level of detail in the main characters descriptions. It made interesting portions of the story too drawn out and overwhelming.

What about Ellen Archer’s performance did you like?

Good voice distinction for the different characters

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

a couple but I wouldn't want to give anything away.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, this book was refreshingly honest. The characters were flawed and sometimes unlikable, but realistic. The overall story was multifaceted and compelling. This book would not be characterized as light, it's the opposite, and stays with you for a bit after you read it.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes, the author did a great job unwinding the twists of the plot just enough to keep you wanting to discover more.

Which character – as performed by Simone Lewis – was your favorite?

I really liked the character Isaac.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, definitely.

Any additional comments?

So far I've really enjoyed all of Tarryn Fisher's books. I'm looking forward to reading more.
