Dragon shifter Prince Kyran has studied the Earth people and is ready to assimilate. Female shifters are all but going extinct on his planet of Qurilixen, and his people are desperate for mates - so much so they're taking matters into their own hands. What better place to capture a woman than Earth? After all, dragon shifters had come from there centuries ago. Surely a human female would be honored to be selected by one as fine and fierce as himself.

I did like this, though, I found it hard to take due to the basic kidnapping part. I'm a writer myself. I just don't see how you intertwine love with being kidnapped and almost forced into it, even though it ended well with Eve realizing she couldn't picture life without him. I think it would've gone much better if he wooed her on Earth. it was clear early on they were soulmates! That is something that means a lot to me, for it took me from the age of 17 to 47 to find my true soulmate! I spent those 30 years in the Army, Special Forces and truly consider myself a selfless man. I fought off any kind of love because I was a combat operator in a Tier one UNIT, and if I perished in war, my career, I didn't want my better half to go through the pain of that loss. My true virtue is honor and I know what it's like to find the other half of your soul. Due to my living situation I despise kidnappings! I've been on a lot of SAR's [Search and Rescue] missions and not all of them ended well. I had to stop and process st different times through the story. It was a good concept but it went awry in the story development. Now, these are all my own opinions and my life story is a bit jaded. It was hilarious with Eve's Sassy attitude. No offense but I won't be reading anymore of this series. I always download Dragon Shifter stories. I was a bit offended when he kept saying his honor was intact, which was not so. To honor is to cherish, to love above all else, to put another person first at all costs to yourself, while not looking for any reparations or thank you's! To honor is to do a deed without even letting the other person do it. I understand this is a FICTION paranormal romance, but I didn't really see any paranormal to it. Thank you for the opportunity to read the other side of the coin, and teach me that not all writers run with the usual; fight evil, save the girl at cost to you or her, etc.

After narrowly surviving my debut into the magical world, I made a promise to myself: no more hiding in broom closets. But with the Mages' Guild reorganizing faster than anyone thought possible, and naming me as their number one target, that promise seems a little far-fetched. Especially since my training with Callie and Dizzy, the highly experienced dual-mage pair, goes off like a cake in a cannon. Left to find someone that can fill the role, it isn't until a formal dinner party goes horribly wrong that I find the best (and worst) solution imaginable: Reagan Somerset, the leather-clad crazy woman who busted into my broom closet sanctuary in the first place.

I absolutely loved this story, or I should say am loving it. As I said in my review of Natural Witch, just 3 days ago, this is reminiscent of KF Breene's "The Warrior Chronicles" series, only in an urban setting, whereas Chosen was in a world, in the, sort of medieval times. That matters not here, what matters is the fantastic writing she throws out there, for us, the fans to eat up. I know I do. I have read many of her series's, I don't go in for the extreme romance stuff, I do like the way she does it here, in the DDVN World. I loved it also in the World of The Warrior Chronicles. This story has been building so well. In the very beginning of Natural Witch I was questionable. but I loved the sassy spark that Penny exuded, which has gotten even more sassy, I love it. I am a soldier and warrior at heart and there's nothing that grabs a hold of me like honor, and there is a good deal of honor in this story. I was an Army Ranger, so I ascribe to "leave no one behind". That saying goes all the way back to Greece, in the B.c. era, when Sparta was a warrior nation state, the saying started as "I will come back with my shield, or on it". Sorry for the rambling, honor just means a great deal to me, I see a lot of honor in Emory, for he truly thought she was safe but I digress. I will sum this up as a middle part of the story that is absolutely, magically delicious read. Don't miss this one, and now on to "Natural Dual Mage" in The Magical Mayhem trilogy. I love this world Ms. Breene has created; The DDVN World. I'm glad Regan was included in this magical romp.

Something has always been missing from my life. A hole that I could never seem to fill. When I accidentally turn a coven of witches into nightmares, I find out what that something is. Magic. And it turns out, I have a crap load of it. As a latent power awakens deep inside of me, I'm exposed to one of the most powerful and corrupt organizations in the magical world - the Mages' Guild. Barely knowing a spell from a few swear words and luck, I won't be able to evade them alone. And that's when I meet him.

I absolutely loved this book. In a way, it reminded me of "Chosen", whereas the magic or power is stronger when combined by somebody like themself. In Chosen, that's what happened with Shanti and The Captain, in this it built, as in Chosen to Penny and Emory, except the roles were slightly reversed also in the end of Chosen, Shanti left to pursue vengeance and her duty, while in Natural Witch, Emory left to pursue vengeance and his personal demons. What can I say, I'm a writer, I notice these things, and its absolutely wonderful how KF Breene does it again, with a 5 star start of the series, I read this when it first came out, but I love listening, it brings much more life to the characters. Penny is brilliant, not only in her magic but on her personality. This author has a way to slowly build her characters for you and you fall in love with them, she's funny, sassy, and knows what she wants, what guy could not love that. Now Emory reminds me of myself, here possesses a great eddeal of honor, hell, when I eases in the army, I refused to get into a LTR for fear of falling in love and then getting killed, and her having to get that knock on the door. I see that honor in Emory. Penny's mom is just funny and A great supporting character. I did a review on the book in 2017, I'm just adding what I don't think I put in. Such a great book, I was on Chapter 35 out of 45 at 10 PM last night it's now 6 am, I stayed up all night to listen to the end, oh well I'm retired and a wounded warrior, I'm allowed to do these things, and I'm putting off editing my 1st book which should be up on Kindle by the middle of 2019, I've got a few medical issues to deal with, maybe sooner if I'd do the hard part of editing it. I'm starting Natural Mage while I'm still awake. Thanks for a great audiobook to Nicole Poole who's a dynamic narrator...

I absolutely loved this book! I loved the whole series, I wish there was a way to continue it, but I don't know how, but if anybody can, its McKenzie! The whole premise of Legacy, is the use of magic, and the class system of magic users, so much so, that a group of powerful Legacy thought they could rule by force, to purge other "lesser" mages, etc. Its almost reminiscent of Nazi Germany in 1939. if they are not pure bred of magic, then they need to be cleansed. it is wrong on so many levels. I'm a soldier, an Army Ranger, I've fought a lot of wars and this is the mind set. It seems the Protagonist's parents and others tried to stop it, that is what we did when I was Special Forces. Now, Legacy can come out of the closet, so to speak, and make real changes. Just because you're born into something doesn't mean you have to embrace it, that's how you know and learn what right and wrong is! Overall she helped the town so many times. The use and type of magic was so impressive. please write more about Legacy's they are so enthralling, as most books written by McKenzie Hunter I have to go right back and read it again because I don't want to leave this world she has created yet. Thanks for the wonderful books. I am a writer now and I can only aspire to write stories like McKenzie.

this was originally just a bookmark but digressed into the War in Heaven, so here is my post:

Well, finally it's the first time for Jess & Mason or "Samyaza" for those familiar with the Bible, he was a Warrior Class Angel, who was one of St Michael's Lieutenants, in the War in Heaven as known in Catholicism. This is where Lucifer rose up with such arrogance, pride, envy, and a few other non-virtious sins, thinking he would overtake Heaven, his Father's Dominion. He was backed by other rebellious Angel's doomed to fall. Lucifer was strongest in the Legion of the rebellious insurgents, after all, he was an Archangel, the first made along with Michael, Gabriel, Uriel and Arial, his brothers and sister. There were 6 other Archangels, not as strong, who amongst the fallen became known as The Princes of Hell., Michael, the strongest of all the Warrior Archangels, was the General in charge of The Heavenly Host of now warriors. God told Michael to ban him from Heaven personally to reign over Hell, God still loved all his creations, so Hell was the best option for Lucifer now renamed to Sammael meaning most unclean and foul, also called The Father of Lies, Little Whore, amongst others. The litany was never clear on how long the war raged on, other than it was very long, a lot of Warrior Angel's died during the tumault of the first ever war, over us, the human race, whom God created with free will, not so with the Angels who were bound to serve in Heaven, that is what Satan was really envious of that God loved the Human Race more than his Angel's. At the end they fell all the dark Angel's who followed Lucifer down that pit, he was the last to go as Michael stood atop him and smited him after he was permanently branded with tattoos of A Dragon and a Serpent, thus ending the War in Heaven and the mighty fall. Though the war still rages on Earth as the devil strives to bring out the weakest in men and women, tempting them to sin. The war will begin anew when Armageddon and the end of days comes, where he will be locked in chains within the realm of Hell! That is the basic back story of the War in tetHeaven, which this book eludes to. The after effects of the War, though never really delving too deeply into it, which is what makes this a wonderful book. I will post this in my comments and review of this book. This bit of writing started out as a Bookmark, though I digressed into an explanation of this, which I truly started as just a Bookmark. That's it for now... Regards,

I'm too tired to do a full review so I promise I'll come back and do a proper review when I wake up. That's how good, no, great this book was, probably my favorite other than Death Becomes Her. So great it was, [WOW an unbidden Yoda moment] and for a writer to do it?? What's up with that? I'll put it down to being tired from staying up all night and listening straight through! Also, I'm a "beginning writer", let's say I'm on probation until my 1st book gets published after 20books conference in November! As I said, I'll do another review on the Kindle side, I already read it, but don't usually review until I listen or do a 2nd read through, so look for it tomorrow. I'll also do a separate one on the fan site at the main fan page on Facebook. Emily is such a great narrator and we've become good friends over the past year or so. I cant give her enough kudos or a PEPSI LOL, [That's just for Michael], FYI I'm a Pepsi drinker [Don't hate me] on the plus side my wife hates it and drinks Coke, even as her coffee in the morning. well I'm going to sleep, look for review later today or tomorrow, I'm looking forward to it because the book was so phenomenal! ...Rob

I absolutely loved this from start to finish! I didn't even need to put the sleep timer on when I listened to it! I reread it in about 2 hours, the audio took I think about 5 hours, I started at 0 Dark 30 and stayed up all night. I'm just getting around to the review now, I'm going to read Capture Death tonight again it's 0 Dark 30! I'm not going to listen to it until Life Goes On comes out in Audible, which Emily assures mine should be soon; she said she sent it to Audible and they should put it up soon! now the review, I think Bethany Anne is so suffering from loss and grief she's decided to "become Baba Yaga", I also think she misses Michael and is pissed he's not there Niko matter the irrationality of it. There were some very funny scenes, some very moving scenes. I knew what Todd waxes going to do as soon as I heard grenade in the air. Being former Military whether as an infantryman, Ranger, SpecForces, or a Tier One Operator, the first thought in that chaos of battle is protect your brothers from different mothers! Todd knew how important Peter was, and Peter basically brought him in, so he did what a soldier did whether a Marine or a PFC Infantryman, he protected him the only way possible, it's through your head in a split second, this is what I must do. I've never faced such a choice but I'm sure it would be the same. You played that scene out so perfectly; it was if I was there! it brought back a lot of memories of friends gone and folded flags at Arlington. A nightmare or two was well worth the read! I always thought if I had to do that, I'd want to hear that Zeppelin song, with the lines of "The restless sleep, and on we go, Valhalla I am coming". oh well time to get into this. Thanks for the great book, and all the advice you've given me. I told you I'd get together with you at 20Books with my 2 Army Buddies. I finished my first book, oh wait this belongs on FB not a review, I'll see ya in Vegas in November. Regards: Rob Ballon, SGM, USA (Ret.) 1st SFOD-D (P)

I absolutely loved this. I really was enchanted by the past where Ana went Rogue, and eventually wounded up in the tearoom of fairy! it brought back all the fond memories of being a kid and my Mom reading those fairy tales which I always dreamt about, that was a great writers skill, to bring us into probably where all of us fantasy readers first got hooked on magic and how special it is to walk in that realm in your head. it's where my ideas come from when I write. I don't know why when the real world collided with me at 17 and sent me to the Army, it eases all about honor for me! That's why I love characters like Ana, Bree, Cass, Del and Nix! even though there is a dark side of me, or anybody the honor overcomes it. I did a lot of hard things, some would consider bad things, but if I could protect others do they could sleep safely in their beds at night, I'd do the most horrific of tasks, and so I did, by protecting, my friends, family and country. I picked this up from reading books like this as I grew up, and you wouldn't believe the amount of guys in the special operations units that read the same things. in Afghanistan even though we had official names like Task Force Black, we'd always rename ourselves and get patches made like that, if you ever look me up on fb you'll see some in my pictures storyline. again Thanks Linsey for another great book, I started up until 0445 too finish it, until the next one, here is to you....Rob
