So you may ask, who is Adam Connor? He is the recently divorced, Academy Award-winning actor who just moved in next door with his kid. He also happens to be an exquisite male specimen and the most infuriating sly bastard I've ever come across. While I was being thoughtful by not breaking and entering, and was actually considering going over to offer him a shoulder to cry on (you know, because of his divorce), instead he had me thrown in jail after a small incident. Jail, people!

At first I thought the two girls were a bit more than friends but the story went another way leaving that door unexplored. That being said, they are both into the men in their lives. Olive is happily married and wants her best friend happy too so when potential arrives next door, you have to be patient through the boring first chapters to get to where the actual story should have started. Not the best beginning and had a lot of quirks, but was a cute story. There are some steamy parts and the HEA I was hoping to find in the end.

They call him a monster. Pale blue eyes as cold as ice that see right through you. He’s hard. He’s damaged. He’s dangerous. He lives in a castle fit for a fairy tale, but he’s no prince. He’s savage. He’s brutal. He’s a killer. By an act of fate, our worlds collide. They call him a monster, but he is my salvation.

Light burns through the darkness and gives way to love.
As I dove into the story I found more than I expected. There was magic, mystery and beauty so dont be mistaken that this story is only of monstrous people, tragic circumstances and ugly truths. It is a story of two people who were born to the darkness but made it bow down to the light. If you crave a HEA then this book will not disappoint. No cliff hangers and I didn't feel the anxiety of drama. A win win for me!

It was painful listening to the relationship between Max and Sarah. The story would be a good one but the characters were just stuck in persistant angst with no movement for the majority of this story. if you fast forward through the BS then you will get the goody out of it and save yourself some torture from the blind stupidity that will have you frustrated.

I had to just turn it off because I didn't want to hear the bad fate of yet another shifter losing what made him great.....his inner being. Just too much catastrophe for me in this series.

Spoiler alert. The story would have been a decent one but.... I have listened to two books of this series and am on the third in hopes that I would find at least one story that didn't leave the hero without his dragon, abilities, or being left unable to ever shift. Sadly....no luck. I just can't believe that the Hero dragon Shifters in this series start out as healthy masculine dragons but all become damaged and lose their Dragon after a skirmish. SERIOUSLY!

spoiler alert but needs to be said! So far I have listened to two books in this series and the the Dragon shifter Hero looses the use of his wings and can no longer be in Dragon form. The story would be more entertaining and magical if the dragons could shift, fly and meet the expectations of the listener. It is sad that it cripples the HEA. IMO, I want to see healthy, happy, manly DRAGONS...not damaged ones that lose their Dragon and abilities.
