I love Angela Roquet’s light romps through the afterlives in the Lama Harvey Series! I’ve way too much interest in history. When I’ve been slogging through WW1 or WW2, Or any of the other events in which (historically) men have decided its better to slaughter than talk, I take a break, and read something that makes me laugh out loud! I’ve many favorites, but for sheer fun, can’t beat Lana and her crew! Cheers and hugs to Angela Roquet!

Anne McCaffrey books were one the delights of my childhood! I read the ACORNA series, and knew I had a new Author!
I was also reading the Heinlein juveniles, CS Lewis, Asimov, and all the Science fiction I could get Chicago Public Libraries to.buy! I can honestly say they all stood the test of time. I am once again!

Football has come to the ancient city of Ankh-Morpork - not the old fashioned, grubby pushing and shoving but the new, fast football with pointy hats for goalposts and balls that go gloing when you drop them. And now, the wizards of Unseen University must win a football match, without using magic, so they're in the mood for trying everything else. The prospect of the Big Match draws in a street urchin with a wonderful talent for kicking a tin can, a maker of jolly good pies, a dim but beautiful young woman who might just turn out to be the greatest fashion model there has ever been, and the mysterious Mr Nutt.

The first time I read "Unseen Academicals” it was love at first light.
I’ve probably read it a half dozen times.

So I am delighted to read it once again. This is a marvelous production. I’m still giggling. Even if you have read a Sir Terry book before, a new reading reveals lovely bits you may have missed before. May the Great A’Tuin bless Sir Terry Pratchett!

In Terry Pratchett's Reaper Man, Death has left Discworld - but that's not necessarily a good thing. After all, chaos always ensues whenever important public services are withdrawn, and Discworld is no exception. Society is suddenly overrun by ghosts and poltergeists, while Dead Rights activist Reg Shoe finds himself busier than he's ever been and newly-deceased wizard Windle Poons rises from his coffin as a living corpse.

Lana Harvey is a reaper, and a lousy one at that. She resides in Limbo City, the modern capital of the collective afterlives, where she likes to stick it to the man (the legendary Grim Reaper himself) by harvesting the bare minimum of souls required of her. She'd much rather be hanging out with Gabriel, her favorite archangel, at Purgatory Lounge. But when a shocking promotion falls in her lap, Lana learns something that could unravel the very fabric of eternity.

Mort, like many teenagers, is gangly, unpromising, and struggling with a menial job - in his case, as Death's apprentice. He can barely handle his simple task of ushering souls out of Discworld, but he really screws up when he meets the beautiful Princess Keli, who is scheduled to be assassinated. Going against his boss's wishes, Mort kills Keli's assassin instead, which angers and interferes with Fate. But Mort's heroism seems to be for naught, since Discworld proceeds as though Keli had been killed.

Another example of "Terry Pratchett never disappoints." I am pretty certain I've read this year's ago. The really neat thing about rereading a DiscWorld book is discovering the seriously funny things I read the first and second times. I've enjoyed this enormously, and put it by until I rediscover it again. I can say with great certainty that I love "Binky".
