In her memoir, a work of deep reflection and mesmerizing storytelling, Michelle Obama invites listeners into her world, chronicling the experiences that have shaped her - from her childhood on the South Side of Chicago to her years as an executive balancing the demands of motherhood and work to her time spent at the world's most famous address. With unerring honesty and lively wit, she describes her triumphs and her disappointments, both public and private, telling her full story as she has lived it - in her own words and on her own terms.

What a wonderful, engaging, uplifting book. I love that woman, that family, and bitterly miss having a country led by people who care about others.

For Susan Green, messy emotions don’t fit into the equation of her perfectly ordered life. She has a flat that is ideal for one, a job that suits her passion for logic, and an “interpersonal arrangement” that provides cultural and other more intimate benefits. But suddenly confronted with the loss of her mother and the news that she is about to become a mother herself, Susan’s greatest fear is realized. She is losing control.

The story itself was very cute. I loved the ending.

The real star here was the narrator. It was almost distracting thinking that one person sounded so naturally like SO many other people. She didn't do the weird "fake low voice" so many female performers turn to during narration of male voices. She was just simply amazing. She actually sounded, distinctly, like each different character. I can't imagine. I have trouble remembering the four voices for my toddler's board books! Very well done. An awesome performance of a really adorable book.
