This book was very good, though it lacks a little with regard to its idealism. It also doesn't show clearly how to achieve all of the stages of Samatha, as it just says that most people won't achieve it. I know it's a little idealistic to expect everyone to be able to achieve this state of mind, but it'd be better to have more actionable steps for laymen (like me) to achieve some degree of mental clarity. Other than that, I thought the book was very clear and provided decent meditation instructions. I like the subject matter, as well.

I am happy with the production of this audiobook, but I don't know that it's all that well suited for audio. I do appreciate that Audible made this readily available to members. I was disappointed how many things were redacted, though I understand that there are legal reasons for that. I wonder if there would be a better way to produce this for audio, as it's extremely dry, but I suppose for those who want to be as informed as possible, it is good. Overall, I give this production a three out of five.
