The Art of Vinyasa takes a unique look at Ashtanga yoga as meditation in motion that produces profound inner change. Two of the most well-respected teachers of the Ashtanga style of yoga, Richard Freeman and Mary Taylor, explore this rigorous practice not as a gymnastic feat but as a meditative form.

This is a great book.

It is almost a great Audiobook, kept from greatness only by the disappointment that the narration was not done by Richard & Mary.

Richard Freeman has one of the most pleasant, mesmerizing voices in The Three Worlds. I wonder why he did not undertake to voice this audiobook?

I have 417 titles in my Audible Audiobook Library. This is, unquestionably, the WORST reading I have ever heard.

It was such a chore to get through it, and the narration detracted so much from the content, that I cannot recall a single thing I was supposed to have learned from this volume.

On a January afternoon in 1893, men hunkered down behind sandbagged emplacements in the streets of Honolulu, with rifles, machine guns, and cannon ready to open fire. Troops and police loyal to the queen of the sovereign nation of Hawaii faced off against a small number of rebel Honolulu businessmen - American, British, German, and Australian. In between them stood hundreds of heavily armed United States sailors and marines. Just after 2:00 p.m., the first shot was fired, and a military coup began.

This is too important a book to have it ruined by a narrator without a clue.

Not only does David Franklin badly mispronounce most Hawaiian words, he sometimes alternates between various mispronunciations of the same word, including the name of Hawaii’s most important historical personality, Kamehameha The Great.

Shame, shame, shame, on Audible Studios, which claims to take care of their authors. They absolutely did NOT take care of Stephen Dando-Collins by issuing this pathetic travesty and laughing stock of a most important work.

This is a fine book. Perhaps the most personal sports biography I have ever read / heard.

Steve Young discloses the details of his lifelong struggle with anxiety, and important, intimate details of his spiritual life as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

The year-by-year, game-by-game, play-by-play memoir is compelling and satisfying. One really appreciates Steve's determination, courage, will power and skill

1 Star may be a bit harsh to assign to a narration otherwise quite admirable. However, I cringed every time narrator George Newbern murdered the name of one of Steve's famous opponents or teammates.

Really, didn't ANYONE with knowledge of NFL player personnel actually proof-hear this audiobook before it was released to the public? We can be sure the following stars did not:

Bobby HER-berT
Mark Rih-PIAN
Junior See-OOH
Jesse SUH-puhlooh

One would think that, for an autobiography of one of the NFL's greatest players, a narrator with a reasonable familiarity with the cast would have been chosen.

Four big thumbs down for George Newbern's failure to prepare for the game.

Michael Prichard's MISPRONUNCIATION of the name, "Muke."

What about Michael Prichard’s performance did you like?

Excellent, as always, except for the head-scratching mispronunciation of the bad guy's name.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No, but I have a an extreme reaction to be being asked a question like this for a book review. Puke.

For $1.95 (the price I paid for this Audible Audiobook) this may be, penny for penny, the greatest value I have ever received on a book of Religion / Philosophy.

Many hours of The Great Dogen for less than 2 bucks is…Unsurpassable.

I especially appreciate the performance of Brian Nishii, who did not clobber the Chinese, but rendered, in almost every case, accurate pronunciations of the Mandarin readings of the names of the Chinese Zen Masters, and the place names associated with them.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

No one. It does not really exist. The few minutes of EXCELLENT audio behind this title sample are completely unrelated to anything actually offered on Audible by "Innovated Language Learning."

What was most disappointing about Innovative Language Learning’s story?

That they would present this bogus come-on when they do not really offer an actual course of Advanced Chinese on Audible.

How could the performance have been better?

The performance on the sample audio was actually very good. When will "Innovated Language Learning" actually offer on Audible an advanced level COURSE of this quality?

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

As mentioned above, the few minutes of sample have tremendous potential. Where's the real thing?

Any additional comments?

As an Audiblephile with 330 titles in my library who has been aa Audible subscriber since years before Amazon bought the company, I encourage Audible executives and quality control people to remove this bogus "Advanced Chinese" phantom from the search results, and from the Audible offerings. If I am mistaken about what I have written above, and someone from "Innovative Language Learning" wants to correct this and contact me, if they actually have an "Advanced Chinese" COURSE on Audible of as good a quality as the sample, I will certainly purchase it.

Very beneficial to me (not an alcoholic). This audiobook inspired me to undertake to attempt to live the 12 Steps for purposes of personal growth completely independent of alcoholism.

Performance: Generally good, but…

An otherwise capable reading was rendered occasionally irritating by the frequent mispronunciation of words.

Whether this was lackadaisicality, or ignorance of the language, was hard to tell.
