Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I might recommend the book, but not the audiobook

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

Every viewpiont of the story was interesting, but I felt like I was always missing something. Then I realized it was abridged....

Which scene was your favorite?

The pilot finding safe landing.

Do you think World War Z needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

I can't really tell based on the fact that since this was abridged, I didn't like the book. If I got more of the nuances of the story I might have a different opinion.

Any additional comments?

Make an unabridged version. Please.

If you could sum up Room in three words, what would they be?

Goodnight Moon

Who was your favorite character and why?

Steppa. He seemed like a cool step-grandparent to have. Grandma was also great.

Did the narrators do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

Yes. I usually like stories with just one narrator, but this book needed the ensemble. It was handled well.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I enjoyed all of Jack's acclimation time with his grandmother. The story of the mom really wasn't delved into properly which would have made the story so much more powerful.

Any additional comments?

The child's voice was disconcerting. It sounded to much like a 10 year old girl not a 5 year old boy.

What disappointed you about The Windup Girl?

The book summary was the best thing about the book.

Would you recommend The Windup Girl to your friends? Why or why not?

No. It might make them less likely to listen to me again.

How could the performance have been better?

The narration was a little monotone, coupled with the long, dragged out details of fake fruit, it was not what I expected given it's previous ratings.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Windup Girl?

Don't really know because I didn't get that far into it.

Would you try another book from Neal Stephenson and/or Jonathan Davis?

Nope.

Has Snow Crash turned you off from other books in this genre?

No. I just couldn't wrap my mind around so much ridiculousness. Really, a mafia-run pizza delivery? I like post-apocalyptic, dystopian, thiller science fiction, but this was like a silly labyrinth that never ends.

Would you be willing to try another one of Jonathan Davis’s performances?

Yes, I have listened to him before and he is very engaging.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Hmm, not much. Nothing I can think of.

Any additional comments?

I hope others can like it more.

Where does Zombiekins rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Pretty good. I was surprised at how engaging it was for me as an adult (listening to it in the car with my 9 and 7 year old).

What did you like best about this story?

The kids missed a lot of the sarcasm but it kept me engaged enough to keep listening. I was initially against listening to a book called "Zombiekins" but it was pretty funny.

What does Johnny Heller bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Dry humor. His tone was perfect for the sarcasm without being mean.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Never buy anything from haunted house yard sales.

Would you listen to Bag of Bones again? Why?

I love listening to Stephen King narrate his own stories. He's so close to his material, it's like being inside his head as the story is taking place. Couldn't be more real.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Bag of Bones?

I will never look at alphabet refrigerator magnets the same way again.

Which scene was your favorite?

Not favorite, but the rock throwing in the lake was painful and agonizing.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Definitely

Any additional comments?

Mr. King, please read more of your own books!!

If you could sum up The Strain in three words, what would they be?

Thrilling, powerful, and captivating

What did you like best about this story?

The chilling narration made the story even better.

Which character – as performed by Ron Perlman – was your favorite?

The narration in general was excellent. It created the perfect mood, terrifying but oh so real. I'd love to hear more by Perlman. Makes me wonder why he didn't do the rest of the books in the trilogy....

Any additional comments?

Refreshing. Don't come here for trashy vampire harlequin romances. This is a tale that brings back the original horror and blood lust.
