I love the intense feeling between both men from the beginning. It was nail bitting at times. Kyle is trying so hard to not push or to be too needed. Mal also tries not to push from his side. As a result they almost miss each other. The ending was wonderful and so sweet.

I actually listened to the Audible version but that isn't a choice for format. This story is full of action and while it introduces us to a new mating it also helps us reconnect with the other pairs as they prepare for a wedding. I like the way this one focuses more on the perspective of the human mates. I also like the interesting foreshadowing for the next book. There are dark moments but also moments that bring out the humor in dealing with such strong personalities. There are also fun surprises.

Justin and Drew meet in an odd way but it is hard with everything else going on around them. Justin spends a lot of time in his head. Drew is good for him and helps him to refocus. The best part is how Drew makes him feel like he has something that is just for himself. Lots of hard emotional stuff that isn't directly about them as a couple but that needs to be dealt with.

I really love the two voices for the main characters. It really adds to the story. Ben is tough and protective but Ann brings out something more in him. But Ann's own thoughts about herself is also being challenged. She is always been an in-charge lady but Ben seems to be bring out a softer side. It is fun to see them dance around each other as they settle into their changing rolls with each other and deal with family drama as well.

Cute hipster and interior designer Michael doesn't do love - not after his ex screwed him over. Sex is a different story, though, and the gentle giant who's painting the mural in the old mansion they're restoring might be perfect hookup material. Gil is just Michael's type with his solid muscle, wicked sense of humor, and the hazel eyes that seem to see into Michael's soul. Trouble is, Gil does do love. He wants romance and forever, and he's set his sights firmly on Michael. Michael's not going there again.

Overall I rate this a 3.5. Part of it was the narration that seemed to be uneven in timing and at regular speed seemed a bit to slow.

This story doesn't seem to be as much a romance between Michael and Gil as them sort of getting together around everything else that is happening around them. There is so much about the criminal activity. Also, we spend a lot of time in Jackson and David's life as well. I got frustrated with Michael who spends half the book acting like he doesn't care then he finally admits he has feeling to man he thinks can't hear him. Then when he realizes Gil knows how he feels he seems to spend the rest of the book trying to but distance back in the relationship. I really hope for the best for these too.

Great start to a spin off series. I love that Wayne is willing to admit when he messes up and to be patience. His willingness to be there no matter what. Ellis just needs a helping hand to fight his demons. To know that someone cares for him and is willing to put him first goes a long way to help bring healing. I like how excepting the guys at the station are as well. They do have their crisis point but being strong brings them through.

This story gives me so many mixed feelings so my rating is really more a 3.5.
There are stops and starts to the story as well. It was bit difficult to think about the fact that the main character who I am coming to care about is really involved in illegal activity. For an alpha there are times were Trenton really seems to be unsure of himself. It is also clear that for all his lone wolf story he has really attached himself to this human pack. I love how strong Marly is despite his status as an omega. He sure isn't letting anyone get anything over on him. Clive is seems to be such an interesting character and it will be interesting to see what will happen in the future for all of these people.

Andrew's plan was to keep his head down and graduate high school, leaving his family behind to start his real life.

There were parts of this story that were hard to hear. I never stopped worrying for Billy either. But then the story just ends abruptly and I'm not sure if I can get through this series. It is just so emotional.
