If you could sum up Darkest Highlander in three words, what would they be?

I began with the Dark Kings books not realizing Donna had begun this tale with the Dark Sword series. So I began with book 1. Now that I have completed the Dark Sword series, I cannot wait to hear the next. I have enjoyed every second of listening and recommend it highly. Donna Grant is a Master and being suspended in her fantasy is one of my greatest audio book experiences.

What other book might you compare Darkest Highlander to and why?

Elder Races compares but not as well connected in story lines

Have you listened to any of Antony Ferguson’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No. And I began midnight master missing his narrative skills.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Theron - Dark haired, duty bound and deceptively deadly. He's the leader of the Argonauts, an elite group of guardians that defends the immortal realm from threats of the Underworld. From the moment he walked into the club, Casey knew this guy was different. Men like that just didn't exist in real life - silky shoulder-length hair, chest impossibly broad, and a predatory manner that just screamed dark and dangerous. He was looking for something. Her. She was the one. She had the mark. Casey had to die so his kind could live, and it was Theron's duty to bring her in. But even as a 200-year-old descendent of Hercules, he wasn't strong enough to resist....

Did Elizabeth Wiley do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

The narrator struggled at first. Maybe I struggled more to grasp the different characters. Overall it was a good job as I became comfortable with the performance.

Any additional comments?

The book has a great story line and set up the reader to want more. The climax was moving and I was left wanting more. I will try book #2 although one review gave a low rating.

What made the experience of listening to True the most enjoyable?

This story line is the most complete of them all. It has mystery, excitement, irony, passion and most of all, Surpirse! The author drives this book in several directions and kept my interest high. At first you think, its just like all the others. Then it takes off in different directions. I enjoy the series but loved this book as it presented several surprises. Previous books are tied together in suspense with surprise. I don't want to give any of them away writing this review!

What did you like best about this story?

The book is fictional and I enjoy the time to relax and allow my mind to unwind. I have listened to all the books of the series with anticipation of the next book release.

Have you listened to any of Vanessa Chambers’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

The narrator does a great performance and all of the characters can be heard in unique consistency. I always listen to books rather than read them. The key element in my mind is the various characters are clearly recognized throughout the storyline.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

NOTHING! 5 STARS with ROSES!!!

Any additional comments?

I hope that the author will one day explore one of the female species in a leading role.
