Hi, how are you? Yes, I am talking to you, the reader of this book's description. Okay, I get it, fourth-wall breaking is overdone. Get over it. This book, Villains Rule, is a fantasy action-comedy which you have to hear. Not because it redefines the genre, far from it. But rather for what it contains. A villain's tale. How often do you get to listen to a story where the villain is the protagonist? No, not an anti-hero, or a brooding monster, nor a hero thinly disguised as a villain. And not evil. If you want evil, take that nonsense to therapy.

No matter how much money, status, professional success, or other types of external security one may have, very few people experience true joy and personal freedom. Byron Katie knows this reality too well. In the midst of a "normal and successful" life, Katie became increasingly depressed, and over a ten-year period sank further into rage and despair. Then, one morning in 1986, out of the blue, she had a sudden, profound insight into how the mind works.

This book describes something called "the work" as a way to make peace with ourselves and others. In actuality the work is simple enough but the speaker goes on and on about examples of it. The book could be far shorter if these repetitions were taken out.

I've been listening to the WTNV podcast for years now, and I love it. It's wierd, and exciting, and funny, but mostly wierd.
this book, however, was not what I expected. for the most part of the book, barely anything happens. the same questions are being posed to different people who make little to no narrative progress.
