Like many have already pointed out already, this book tends to not make sense and sort of bumble it's way through. I won't leave spoilers if you decide to listen anyway, but how a mc that at least seems to know nothing about rpgs and needs every little detail explained suddenly outplays a kingdom of natural inhabitants is beyond me. Also I don't know if it was the writer or narrator but there were a significant number of typos or slips in the reading. Lastly the narrator has a lovely voice but no range so all characters sound the same; it felt more story time then production.

For Maximilian Smith, deciding to save two women from a group of drunken thugs was easy. When he’s mortally wounded in the process of rescuing the women, he finds himself with a much more difficult decision to make. After waking up in the morgue, naked and perfectly healthy, Maximillian Smith begins a new life. Dead to the world of his birth, he must learn to live as a vampire, and that education leads him to a strange new world where all the old tales he’d been told were myths are true.

Gabriel Delling might call himself a professional con artist, but when walking superstitions start trying to bite his face off, his charm is shockingly unhelpful. It turns out living nightmares almost never appreciate a good joke. Together with a succubus who insists on constantly saving his life, Gabe desperately tries to survive a new reality that suddenly features demons, legends, and a giant locust named Dale - all of whom pretty much hate his guts. And when an ancient horror comes hunting for a spirit locked in his head, Gabe finds himself faced with the excruciating choice between death...or becoming some kind of freaking hero.

I personally liked this book, but have the story a 3 for the personal headache and annoyance I have for people in stories that show snow adaptability, and the whole "this is murder", or "they're a person" thing. I mean I can't be the only one that thinks, "ok, they gotta go". All I can do is think of Samuel Jackson in XXX state of the union and I quote "you know you shoulda killed that b****?"

OK I have 2 problems with the boo. that said number one is that voice actor didn't have enough range in this voice and characters, and was monotone for the majority of the book. number two is that we really didn't need the second point of view from Pawg after the first two times and just feels like filler due to his lack of significance.
