The infected are subject to delirium, fever, a dramatic increase in violent behavior, and a one-hundred percent mortality rate. Death. But it doesn't end there. One of the best zombie stories available on Audible. I really enjoyed this whole series. It was a little annoying at the very beginning of this book, with the emails and the way it was all read and the narrator's seeming unfamiliarity with certain acronyms, but once the actual story got going, I couldn't stop listening. I'll definitely listen to this one again. Glad there were two other books after this, because I didn't want it to end!

Bitter and merciless war is coming to the frozen north. It's bloody and dangerous and the Union army, split by politics and hamstrung by incompetence, is unprepared for the slaughter that's coming. Lacking experience, training, and in some cases even weapons, the army is scarcely equipped to repel Bethod's scouts, let alone his elite forces. In the heat-ravaged south, the Gurkish are massing to assault the city of Dagoska, defended by Inquisitor Glokta.

In this brilliantly conceived tour de force, Stephen King - who has absorbed the social, political, and popular culture of his generation more imaginatively and thoroughly than any other writer - takes listeners on an incredible journey into the past and the possibility of altering it.
