Filled with self-doubt, she struggles to grasp the Mysteries - her greatest trial yet. An education in the enigmatic magic is a necessary one, should Sera plan to rise in her station and invoke her powers during war. Very good story. I quite enjoy them. Already into book #2.

Only annoyance is that I can tell this is a MALE author because he writes a twelve year old adolescent as a "little girl". That is a bit annoying. Most 12 year old girls have started their periods and are not "little girls". EVERY time he uses the words "Little girl" to one of the main female characters I honestly am picturing on my minds eye a little girl. a child of 10 or younger. Most 15 y.o teens will never refer to a 12y.o as a "little girl" unless out of spite. Just wanted to get that off my chest. It's the only thing that has bugged me with this series.

Oh my god. I've read every single book in this series and what a ride it has been. It is far and few that a complete series leaves me so raw and open that this series has done to me. It is a bittersweet feeling. If you haven't considered reading this series or have started to no completion, please continue on. Follow the path and listen to Fitz' Story. Read the Liveship and the Rain Wild trilogies. READ them all! The journey is a harrowing one with many trials in Fitz's life and beautiful sweetness too. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SERIES. <3
