What made the experience of listening to Furious the most enjoyable?

This was a good story, well written and gripping. The narration definitely detracted and was actually quite odd. It was well done at some points, but frequently drifted into mechanical, robot like performance. It was distracting and caused me to spend too much time wondering about what was wrong with the narration!

The Profiler's Daughter is a psychologically haunting thriller that combines murder mystery, love triangle, and family intrigue in one satisfying page burner. Sky Stone was born into the wealth and privilege of Boston's oldest Brahmin family but chooses instead to follow in the footsteps of her deceased father, legendary FBI profiler Monk Stone. In the chilly morning hours before the Boston Marathon, when a beautiful university student is found strangled and mutilated, her body left at the base of Heartbreak Hill, Sky returns from self-imposed exile to investigate.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

This book was more of a romance than a mystery. The narration definitely made it feel like a romance, but the story didn't have enough clout to carry this in the mystery/detective genre.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

Very predictable formula

How could the performance have been better?

Different narrator

The summer that Nixon resigns, six teenagers at a summer camp for the arts become inseparable. Decades later the bond remains powerful, but so much else has changed. In The Interestings, Wolitzer follows these characters from the height of youth through middle age, as their talents, fortunes, and degrees of satisfaction diverge. The kind of creativity that is rewarded at age 15 is not always enough to propel someone through life at age 30; not everyone can sustain, in adulthood, what seemed so special in adolescence.

They love nothing better than sipping free-trade gourmet coffee, leafing through the Sunday New York Times, and listening to David Sedaris on NPR (ideally all at the same time). Apple products, indie music, food co-ops, and vintage T-shirts make them weak in the knees. They believe they're unique, yet somehow they're all exactly the same.

This book was a hilarious guide to today's politically correct white culture. I laughed out loud the entire time!
