Not a bad audiobook, but not great, lots of talk about tactics but none I can recognize or remember, characters are flat, one dimensional, the action is ok, unspectacular. I didn’t dislike the audiobook but I guarantee I won’t give it a second listen. There is better stuff out there for fans of the genre, I’ve got a library of 350 plus so I’m a junkie for all Sci Fi, if you are in need of a fix, then this title works

What a fantastic story, absolutely loved it, Ray Porter is one of the best in the business. One issue, what a collection of characters, everyone of them is a bag of shit at some point in the story, either self obsessed or greedy as f$@!, can’t wait for the next book!!

I listen to a ton of Sci Fi, found this series enjoyable, look forward to its next chapters, Luke Daniels is great, I’m no critic but I know what I like and was happy with spending a credit on this, and will definitely give the next installment a shot

I’m a huge Alien fan, and while it starts off well, it ends poorly. Alien Isolation is more alien covenant than Alien. Plot holes are everywhere, and the flashbacks to the crappy childhood of Amanda Ripley become a nuisance and completely unnecessary, talk about beating a dead horse, we get it, the kid had a lousy childhood and misses mommy. Again there are a few moments early, then it loses coherence. Narrator is above average. I have one big issue, it’s an Zenomorph, or an Alien don’t keep referring to it as a monster, or a big cockroach that needs to be squished! My suggestion is to play the game, it’s terrifyingly great.

I enjoyed this book, the first of the series, a bit run of the mill, predictable, but enjoyable. I do recommend for fans of Military Science Fiction.

I have a familiarity with the universe created by Richard Fox, which may be why I enjoyed this so much, (warning, not the place to start the series, but if looking for 5 Mil Sci Fi audiobooks packed with action, I highly recommend the series) the story brings an end to Terran Strike Marine LT Hoffman’s exploits. A must read for any fan of the Ember War series, Lastly, Luke Daniels is fantastic.

Really enjoyed this series, an expansion of the Ember War saga. Fox delivers, again. If new to the series go all the way back to the beginning, it’s a fantastic collection with great characters who are brought to life by Luke Daniels (who is excellent).
