This is a great book. HOWEVER, AND THIS IS VITAL TO GETTING FULL SATISFACTION!
When this book ended, I thought the narrator was retarded because the ending simply wasn't there. I was extremely discouraged. THAT WAS UNTIL I REALIZED THE ENDING IS IN THE NEXT BOOK BY THE AUTHOR CALLED "THE TEHRAN INITIATIVE.

You must buy both books or none. They go together. This is a point that Audible needs to make clearer to prospective readers because I only bought the "Tehran Initiative" because it was on sale or I've read everything else. It was by luck at best that I stumbled into it. It would be very dissapointing to any reader to simply buy the first book and not the second. In my opinion, the two books should have been made into one book. Perhaps the author could not meet the publisher's deadline and that's why the reader is left hanging after book one- "THE TWELFTH IMAM. Once you get into "THE TEHRAN INITIATIVE" the author picks up right where he left off. The narrator also did a great job. The accent is more Indian than Persian, but most readers do not know the difference anyway.

Great Book-My first by this author!

Great book. Good plot, funny dialogue, mystery, decent amount of violence, however not messy. This is my first time reading this author. I think he has a very unique sense of humor, especially how he wraps it around the minor violence areas in the plot. After 92 books this year, I would definetly buy this one again. Also, I'm not on Audible's or the Publisher's payroll like that chick with the damn cat!

Most successful authors are contracted to mass produce a book a year. I guess they are human and only have so much imagination in their tank. The ODD THOMAS series is a great series until this one which was an unequivacal disaster!!!! Whatever Koontz was thinking of when he wrote this, I suspect the plot came up in his mind while he was riding the porcelain pony, reading the funny pages, because this book is a joke and an embarrassment to Koontz. Koontz is undoubtedtly one of the best writers of this genre. MY ADVICE-SAVE YOUR MONEY AND BUY SOMETHING ELSE. I MEAN NO DISRESPECT TO KOONTZ BUT HE KNOWS THIS BOOK IS CRAP ALREADY AND PROBABLY DIDN'T WANT IT TO GO TO PRINT, BUT DEADLINES ARE DEADLINES. Maybe the next Odd Thomas book will be better, it can't be worse. I will buy any new book from him as I've read every other book he has written. SIDE NOTE: Readers like me want to see and read true reviews from other readers, not fabricated reviews from the publisher or an author's friend. So AUDIBLE: STOP CENSURING READERS REVIEWS. If you wrote a review praising this book then you are a moron or a liar! Anyone who has read the book can comment on whether my review was truthful or not. That is if AUDIBLE.COM has the cahonies to let my review stand AS IS????j

This story has been done several times over. The "OMEGA MAN", starring Charlten Heston was the first in my lifetime, then Will Smith starred in the next "virus gets out" type story; I forget that titles name.

Anyhow, my problem is I've listened to so many books, I need to find new authors. This book is a simple, redundant, same old virus wipes out everyone, but like usual, one guy is immune. Big surprise there.

In conclusion, the book wasn't terrible. If you have not read "OMEGA MAN" or have seen the latest Will Smith movie, then this book is a 5 on a scale of 10. I have also found a "SERIOUS" drought in truly captivating plot lines or story lines in the last six months. Selfishly, I hope some new books come out which the reader can not stop listening to it.

NOTE:***** I am finding this in "The Twelfth Imam", followed by "The Tehran Inituative!" Go buy them. They are my first two books by this author. I am impressed which is not an easy thing for an author to get from me.

What did you like best about Black List? What did you like least?

What I liked best=I liked when it ended. What I liked least=When I bought a new book. It's time to have Harvath whacked and get a new superhero for this author. Being prior SOG, nobody goes into harms way time and time again and comes out unscathed. My suggestion is Scott Harvath's time in this author's plot setting is over. Time to "whack him" and start a new series. It's become simply more and more of the same. Harvath gets screwed, kills everyone, Nicolas' dogs eat a couple of people and uses his creative intelligence in cyberworld. Last, one SOG Operator dies-THE END.

What was most disappointing about Brad Thor’s story?

Same old stuff

Which scene was your favorite?

None

Did Black List inspire you to do anything?

Buy a new book

Any additional comments?

Buy a different book. The author has enough money.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

No, I see what the author was trying to do. It just took forever to get there. The book was ok. I would try the author again, but would not buy this one again, if given the chance to turn back the clock. Sorry, Ms. Slaughter.

Would you ever listen to anything by Karin Slaughter again?

Yes.

What three words best describe Kathleen Early’s voice?

OK.OK.Ok.

Did Criminal inspire you to do anything?

Go buy a new book to listen to.

Any additional comments?

Relatively boring. Kind of a chick book for chicks who like criminal dramas. Also, multiple plots but definetly not a page turner.

What did you love best about Hard Target?

I rate books by how excited I am to get back to listening to them. I found this book to be above average and worth buying.

What other book might you compare Hard Target to and why?

It's a typical "home grown terrorism" plot. I share some of the same feelings the "Father character" in this story had. Our government politicians are for the most part on the "take." It also shows what war really does to soldiers who get severely injured. As a prior special forces soldier, I do not believe most people enlist believe this can happen to you. Especially, in a war time environment like we have now, with a war in the middle east already started covertly. (meaning-most americans are not aware our CIA Agents, as well as, Special ops soldiers are already inside Iran. Think hard before you enlist because the next stop after boot camp and "AIT" training is IRAN!

As the worst public speaker we have ever had for a president, yes, I am referring to George Jr., who said it so well for the first time- "BOMB, BOMB, BOMB, BOMB, BOMB IRAN! It's just a matter of time. Iran must NOT be able to have NUKES. Either Israel or the USA or both must and I say MUST take out Iran. I still remember 1978-1979. They need to pay for that too!

Have you listened to any of MacLeod Andrews’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

First one by this author.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Home grown terrorism is here to stay!

Any additional comments?

I would buy this book again if I had to choose between two books.

What made the experience of listening to The Book Case the most enjoyable?

I have bought 80 books YTD from Audible.com. I have not listened to one bad book by DeMille. I am listening to MAYDAY by DeMille now and it scares the crap out of me. It reminds me of that flight 700, I think it was &00 that went down in the Atlantic after the Navy shot it down accidentally then covered it up.Government cover-ups!!! NOTHING NEW THERE.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Detective like always in this series

Have you listened to any of Scott Brick’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes! Brick does a fine job in most of his work, although when he has to perform or act like a "whiny guy" it doesn't suit him. He sounds like a "bitch." It like George Goodell is the only guy to read for Randy Wayne White and Ron McClarty for the author, I forget his name, maybe Silva, but the main character was an ex spook who lives in the cemetary across from the White I mean Black house.

Whoever read Lynsey Boxer's character in Patterson's latest book was mediocre at best. The other woman is better. I know every narrator. I have what people have told me is a "tonographic memory". I never forget a voice, ever! I have even been tested. i use to be able to tell anyone where somebody was born and grew up down to a five zipcode range, anywhere in the country. It was a hobby for me.

You will think I am insane for saying this, but I will bet anyone $100,000 that Brad Pitt is Robert Redford illigitamate son. I can tell by his voice. Anyone else who has intelligence training in facial recognition or behavior sciences with a specialty in in recognition will agree with me if they take fifteen minutes and compare their facial movements, ie., lip movement, cheek movements, leg stances etc. I bet $100,000. I know I'm correct.

Also, the "guy" who narrates the low testosterone commercials on tv for that "egomaniac neurosurgeon, Jacob jewenstein, from Hopkins, or whatever the asshole's name is, the narrator is a biological relative of former governor Mike Huckabee.

Who was the most memorable character of The Book Case and why?

Gotta go for now.

Any additional comments?

Yeah! I know youwill think I'm a nut but check out what I said. You will see I'm correct.
