5 big fat stars. Highly recommending for this author’s debut in psychological suspense. The story is told in reverse & kept me on the edge of my seat with anticipation.

Another great book in the Inspector Lynley series. Barbara & Tommy are back as the dynamic duo. I hope the next book involves Daidre.

Great psychological thriller. I loved to hate Simon and twisted things he did over the course of 28 years. Surprise after shocking revelation made this book impossible to put down.

What a fantastic book. I highly recommend it for readers of both the SciFi & Thriller genres. This could easily be a 5 episodes of the Twilight Zone or Black Mirror with its twisted romance stories. Also if you love Joe 💙 [Caroline Kepnes' character in "You" & "Hidden Bodies"], you're gonna love more than one of the guys & gals in this brilliant novel.

Thank you DelRay, Ebury & John Marrs for sending this book to me and giving me an opportunity to read it before the UK publication date of May 4, 2017. I also purchased the Audible since it's perfectly suited to listening with its multiple narrators!

This is not a typical psychological thriller. Just when I thought I knew where this story was going the author grabbed me my the gut & making me say out loud "oh my G*D" ... hearing that some seemingly insignificant moment I'd read chapters ago becoming tantamount in importance. This is not a quick read or something you should binge - this is something I sipped, savored and did not rush through because it was so amazingly enjoyable. Five stars. If you're a fan of mind frak movies & tv show like HBO's Westworld, USA's Mr. Robot or the movie The Game, you'll love this suspenseful novel. Extra kudos to the translator & the terrifically talented narrarator.

I'd heard so much about this book (which won numerous awards), but I found it rather boring. It was publicized as Thriller and Horror, but despite a Gothic setting, I came away feeling it was the story about religious mysticism. PS The narration on Audible was excellent!

Monotone narrator.

Too much superfluous detail that drones on & on.

Figured out who the killer was early on & no twists to make me think I was wrong.
