I highly recommend the Audible version of this, because the author is funny, well spoken, and captivating. The story makes your jaw drop at the same time you are praying for her to make a different choice. An awesome journey, recreated for our benefit.

Drugs and alcohol are so often masking things of a deeper nature. This is an honest, eye opening memoir of the struggles to overcome severe drug and alcohol abuse stemming from the undercurrent of her upbringing. The narrator was pleasant and good, despite an unique rythym/cadence to her speaking. I had a very hard time taking breaks from this book to accomplish real life. 😁

A great book, entertaining and incredibly well written. Wonderful narration as well. Full of accurate information about this even from the only one who can give it. Thank you, Brendan, for your service and truth.

Great story, great narration, greatly inspiring. You will not be disappointed! I actually didn't even know Jimmy Wayne, or his music, before reading this book. So, that is NOT a pre-requsite to enjoyment. Fans of his will possibly enjoy it more than me. Not sure if that's possible. ;-)

I love books that let my into the minds of others. I am a straight, female, Christian who does not drink, never have cared to. But I am endeavoring to understand the minds of many types of people, and this book is great for that. I hope you are still sober, Augusten, and happy, too!

I didn't want it to end. Super book.
Narration was good but had some slightly annoying voices, but overall very well done.
This book will stay with me in my heart.
