In her memoir, a work of deep reflection and mesmerizing storytelling, Michelle Obama invites listeners into her world, chronicling the experiences that have shaped her - from her childhood on the South Side of Chicago to her years as an executive balancing the demands of motherhood and work to her time spent at the world's most famous address. With unerring honesty and lively wit, she describes her triumphs and her disappointments, both public and private, telling her full story as she has lived it - in her own words and on her own terms.

A life changing and engaging read. Best on Audible in Michele’s voice. Also affirming of the average person’s hopes and beliefs about the Obamas and their goals and souls. A must for every mother and a must for anyone living on excuses or giving up hope. I wish the Obamas well forever.

Secretly treasured memories of her eccentric grandmother’s Tuscan house are very special for Carrie Stowe; for not only do they recall the happy childhood summers before the Great War, they are her only escape from the suffocating routine of her life with Arthur, her repressive husband. When she unexpectedly inherits the house, Arthur, predictably, insists it be sold. But while disposing of the effects, Carrie is drawn to an enigmatic young man embarked on an ideological quest….

I adore Kate Moron and Caroline Lee was always a great narrator of her books. In this case story is choppy, sad and lacking in care for the characters. I love Joanne Froggart, but felt her voice and rapid pace were ill suited to the material.

Stella Lane thinks math is the only thing that unites the universe. She comes up with algorithms to predict customer purchases - a job that has given her more money than she knows what to do with as well as way less experience in the dating department than the average 30-year-old. It doesn't help that she has Asperger's and that French kissing reminds her of a shark getting its teeth cleaned by pilot fish. She decides that she needs lots of practice - with a professional - which is why she hires escort Michael Phan.

When Elspeth Noblin dies of cancer, she leaves her London apartment to her twin nieces, Julia and Valentina. These two American girls never met their English aunt; they only knew that their mother, too, was a twin, and Elspeth her sister. Julia and Valentina are semi-normal American teenagers - with seemingly little interest in college, finding jobs, or anything outside their cozy home in the suburbs of Chicago, and with an abnormally intense attachment to one another.

Number-one New York Times best-selling author Laurie Notaro isn't exactly a domestic goddess - unless that means she fully embraces her genetic hoarding predisposition, sneaks peeks at her husband's daily journal, or has made a list of the people she wants on her Apocalypse Survival team (her husband's not on it). Notaro chronicles her chronic misfortune in the domestic arts, including cooking, cleaning, and putting on Spanx while sweaty (which should technically qualify as an Olympic sport).
