I thought Blackwood Farm was a refreshing take on some of my favorite characters, and totally in line with the Anne Rice legacy. David Pittu was fabulous.

"[ Memnoch] is one of Rice's most intriguing and sympathetic characters to date. . . . Rice ups the ante, taking Lestat where few writers have ventured: into heaven and hell itself. She carries it off in top form."( The Seattle Times)

Any additional comments?

I have read or listened to just about every Anne Rice book--including the two Christ the Lord books--but this is the first book that I actually hated. The storyline that included Dora and Roger was my usual favorite Anne Rice, but the book took a turn to the left when Memnoch entered the picture, and I just couldn't get with where it was going. Oh well, on to the next one...

A posthumous recipient of the World Fantasy Award for Lifetime Achievement, Marion Zimmer Bradley reinvented - and rejuvenated - the King Arthur mythos with her extraordinary Mists of Avalon series. In this epic work, Bradley follows the arc of the timeless tale from the perspective of its previously marginalized female characters: Celtic priestess Morgaine, Gwenhwyfar, and High Priestess Viviane.

It's one thing to hear a life-changing truth or to have a conceptual grasp on spiritual wisdom. But it’s another thing to "walk the walk" - or to put into practice the good advice we've been given. What does it mean to walk the walk in our everyday lives? According to Pema Chödrön, it means being down-to-earth, genuine, and perhaps most importantly, it means engaging in the teachings in order to actively confront anything and everything we’ve heretofore rejected in our attempts to find happiness.
