It takes political intrigue - and plenty of tanks - to defeat zombies. Escaped zombies from behind the wall have swept across the northeast, their path marked by havoc and death. Into this nightmare world are thrust several unlikely heroes. A full-time national guard soldier leads his company of tanks on a harrowing journey towards the Appalachian Defensive Line. A small group of refugees fight for their own survival and end up facing demons of a different sort.

Diverse, dark-humored, and deliciously bite-sized: JT Lawrence ratchets up the tension with this compelling collection of short stories perfect for fans of Gillian Flynn and Roald Dahl. "Gatsby’s Double" - An artist’s Pomeranian has been replaced by an imposter. "Court, Marry, Kill" - Whose body ends up being unzipped by fish on the ocean floor? "Rockabye Baby" - A female-only cult has a very dark side. "He Did It" - A detective relies on his gut (and his hallucinations) to help him solve murder cases.

On October 15 1977, Christine Eadie and Helen Scott left the World's End pub after a fun-filled night with two men in their arms. They had their whole lives ahead of them. They had nothing to fear and everything to look forward to. Their naked bodies were discovered the following day. They were found six miles apart from each other. No attempt had been made to conceal their bodies, and both girls had been beaten, gagged, tied, raped and strangled. The case attracted widespread media attention and despite the Police's best efforts, they were unable to identify a culprit.

A small group of survivors from Illinois attempts to escape further south away from the deepening cold and increasing anarchy. Along the way, they discover that the true monsters are not the mutants of the wastes; instead the enemy that they must fear the most is their fellow man.
