This was a beautiful book to read. I laughed, cried, and smiled my way through it, connecting to the characters, the obstacles and pondering how life could be different if we had made other choices in it. The narrator was remarkable, she did wonderful voices and truly told the story beautifully. I’m so glad I read this, and I hope you do too. Your world will be a bit brighter because of it.

I loved the Red Queen series and since I was late to the game on the series, I was able to read all the books in order, and only had to wait about two months for Broken Throne to come out. I was very excited then let down at the beginning, but ultimately happy by the end.

First off, I wish I had bought the hard copy book to read this- I don’t think the contents of the novellas were well suited for an audiobook. So many letters, notes, etc. in Julian’s parts in the beginning made it hard to truly follow. And quite frankly his parts were like non-fiction: dull and monotone and very hard to absorb the details being given. Second, the chapters weren’t clearly defined and many occurred at odd breaks, again making it hard to follow.

Another reviewer kindly broke out the novellas - the two from Cruel Crown first and then a follow-up with Evangeline, Cal and Mare, with history from Julian mixed in at the beginning.

The first third of the book felt like a waste, but the last two thirds made it a worth while read. Overall, I agree with other readers that this was nice closure for the series. A great story, a great series, and a great read.

Keith McKallister is the king of the stoners. You know the type. Every school has one - the hot, fun, dopey guy beloved by the student body but despised by, well, just about everyone else. He spends his early mornings in the ocean and his days trying to get to class on time. Life is as easy as it gets until one poor choice too many catches up with him, and he’s forced to reevaluate his path.

Incredible story, I love following the family’s story. I am sad that this is the “last” book for a while until the next is released (I assume there will be a book for Quinn and then another for Grace). Excellent narration. I can’t wait to read again.

Fate doesn't own Jake McKallister. At least, that's what he tells himself. Life is better than ever. He's at the top of his game, performing to sold-out crowds the world over. He has his health and a solid, fun-loving family to keep him grounded. And he got the girl - the beautiful, quirky girl he's just made his wife. Yes, life is good. If only fate would stop screaming in his ear. Lucky is the best word for Casey McKallister. Yes, life is perfect...until it all comes crashing down around her.

Jake McKallister might have been a rock star, but he was no ordinary one. Surviving an unspeakable crime as a young teen had shaped him into a guarded workaholic, and he now lived his life trying to forget. If it hadn't been for music and the redemption he found through it, he might not have survived. Career success came easily for him. Personal connections did not.
