Whitney Gable is the kind of woman you fight to the death to protect. To keep. To cherish. I've finally learned my lesson, and it's time to prove I'm the man who's worthy of her. I don't care what it takes, because failure is not an option. No matter who or what stands in our way - this time, she'll be mine forever.

There are no douchebags in this story. Well, there are, but they're not who this story is about. This story is about me - the coach's daughter. When I moved to Iowa to live with my dad, the university's take-no-prisoners wrestling coach, I thought transferring would be easy as pie - living with my father would be temporary, and he'd make sure his douchebag wrestlers left me alone. Wrong on both counts.

On a sunny morning bike ride in Brooklyn, 24-year-old Katie McKenna was forever changed when she was run over by an 18-wheeler. Being crushed under a massive semi wasn't something Katie should have survived. After 10 hours of emergency surgery, she woke to find herself in a body and a life that would never be the same.

I purchased this because it was the Daily Deal. I loved the title and normally I don't read too many memoirs. Once I read the synopsis, I was all in. Katie was transparent. Her story is raw emotion and she owns it unapologetically. She is a phenomenal story teller and the narration was amazing. I can't imagine anyone else delivering it the way she did. She's pretty bad ass.
