Dr. Emory Charbonneau, a pediatrician and marathon runner, disappears on a mountain road in North Carolina. By the time her husband Jeff, miffed over a recent argument, reports her missing, the trail has grown cold. Literally. Fog and ice encapsulate the mountainous wilderness and paralyze the search for her. While police suspect Jeff of "instant divorce," Emory, suffering from an unexplained head injury, regains consciousness and finds herself the captive of a man whose violent past is so dark that he won't even tell her his name.

When I first started listening to this book, I kept believing it was going to be predictable. I couldn’t have been more wrong. The twists just kept coming! Suspenseful and original writing!

This book was incredible. It is by far the best written and best narrated book I have listened to on Audible. It explores many emotions, situations and keeps you in suspense to the end. The narrator was very believable and consistent with the characters’ voices throughout the novel. Wow. I just loved it!

When librarian Laura Griffith's 16-year-old sister disappears on a frigid February day, leaving only a brief note behind, Laura resolves to do whatever it takes to track down the runaway teen. That includes recruiting ATF agent turned PI James "Dev" Devlin to help. But the deeper he digs, the more he begins to suspect that something sinister is at work in the girl's disappearance. And the closer he gets to uncovering the truth, the clearer it becomes that the situation isn't just dangerous - it's deadly. Chilling and at times terrifying, Trapped is the latest thrilling listen from Irene Hannon, the queen of romantic suspense.

I really enjoy Irene Hannon’s books. This is part of a trilogy. I read the first before joining Audible. Later, I bought the third book on Audible. I enjoyed the characters so much, I wondered why I hadn’t purchased the second book. No sooner had I purchased it and began listening, and I knew why. The narrator is SO slow. I remembered my son uses the “speed up” feature for listening to books for school, so I tried listening at 1.25...and thoroughly enjoyed this book!
