In his landmark best seller The Tipping Point, Malcolm Gladwell redefined how we understand the world around us. Now, in Blink, he revolutionizes the way we understand the world within. Blink is a book about how we think without thinking, about choices that seem to be made in an instant, in the blink of an eye, that actually aren't as simple as they seem. Why are some people brilliant decision makers, while others are consistently inept?

This book hooked me on Malcolm. Yes many people say things are anecdotal in the book but there is a deep truth to many issues that are brought up. It can be very eye opening and allows someone to see more of the entire picture.

I find it fun when someone makes a comment and then I respond to them saying did you look at it like this? People tend to be closed minded/

He believes that his life is a movie produced by God, that his mission is to become physically fit and emotionally supportive, and that if he succeeds, his happy ending will be the return of his estranged wife, Nikki. When Pat goes to live with his parents, everything seems changed: no one will talk to him about Nikki, and his new therapist seems to be recommending adultery as a form of therapy.

Love the book and showing how simple joys should matter to us. You never know what others have or are going through so give them some leeway and enjoy. Good to treat everyone this way.

So most of us perform, please, and perfect, all the while thinking, What if I can't keep all of these balls in the air? Why isn't everyone else working harder and living up to my expectations? What will people think if I fail or give up? When can I stop proving myself?

A sweet critical coming of age book.

Though many may think it's not relevant today this is not true. It does refer to a different time though the basics of coming of age that are still present today in some fashion.

One critical aspect I find is how they treated life and dealt with, good times, hard times and bad times. They showed a GRIT, that often today's youth and young adults truly lack.

Somehow they always made it work.
