the title is misleading. this is really a historical list of those in the church. it has no soul and though it is rich you get no feel for what the people were like...disappointing

it was nice to hear Merton but the subject of the first half was an answer to a question concerning Nirvana..he finally got into the Celtic subject but it was more history than practice..its only 31 minutes

this is a surgeons point of view. i was looking for enlightened physical therapy. there is also a lot of time with unneccesary musical interludes. nutrition and weightloss is important.

whaA??? this looked interesting but there is no narration. it is only sounds...first track sounds like a big crackling fire..then some sea and storm...it usually does calm me down and lead to sleep.

I do not have psoriasis but at night my skin can get itchy and twitchy

anyway it's a keeper for my library.

for history fans the last chapter gives sources and information..for me it was the highlight of the book
narration was well suited to the material..read with feeling but thankfully not too dramatic
it's a story about people from the God like to the servants the humanity equilises them all.
I did like it and looked for more Judith Tarr but this is the best and the narration carried the book
