Just when you thought it was safe to take the train.... It was supposed to be an uneventful trip. A three-day visit to Chicago to attend a funeral. But Eugene Pharrell has just stumbled into a maddeningly treacherous journey back home. One that has pitfalls, phantoms, lost worlds and, possibly, no way out.

This was a very quick listen but I listened to it more than once. It definitely kept me in suspense while I, along with the main character, tried to understand what the heck going on. I mean that in a positive way. I like when I don’t know exactly what is going to happen. Overall it was intriguing.
The narrator did well. I enjoyed his sinister portrayal of the villain of the story.

This is a fun short story. Gertrude cracks me up. Many times I just had to SMH and smile at her. Imagine an old school elderly person trying to solve crimes in modern times. Hilarious.
I will have to check the rest of the series out.

This one was slightly different than the other books in this series, in my opinion. I am a fan of the series but this may be my least favorite book so far. It’s still worth listening to though. The narrative is good as usual. The Spider kicks butt as usual. I’m not sure what it may have been missing for me.

If you could sum up Eaten: The Complete First Season in three words, what would they be?

Imaginative, Hilarious Adventure

What did you like best about this story?

I liked how well the author was able to use food to build every inch of the world and it made perfect sense. Even the simple saying like "Hasta La Vista" became "Hasta La Pasta". I also liked that even though it's a fantasy, you could totally imagine that this is what's happening in the real world, with the way people are becoming more and more loyal to processed foods than vegetables and fruit.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Anthony Bianco?

I believe so. He was decent enough. He had decent pacing and variety.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

One sitting would have been a bit much but probably I could have listened within two or three sittings. It was a fairly short book, about five hours.

Any additional comments?

The elaborate world the author built was quite imaginative and creative. It's worth reading if you're into books that immerse you deep into the fantasy.

What made the experience of listening to Scarlet the most enjoyable?

I liked how the book flipped between Scarlet and Cinder's stories. I also appreciated the complexity of the fairytale-like characters and how you weren't quite sure who was good and who was bad. The narrator was really good and talented performing both genders, various ages, and people from various origins.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Iko is my favorite but Scarlet is a close second because she is one tough chick.I love Iko because she's always making me laugh with her human-like aspirations even though she's an android.

What about Rebecca Soler’s performance did you like?

Wonderful. The narrator was really good and talented performing both genders, various ages from young to old, and people from various origins like France or the moon!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Definitely! I couldn't get enough.

Any additional comments?

Fantastic Series. Can't wait for Book 4 in January. I listened to these way too quickly. Pace yourself to make it last longer!
