Macy Sorensen is settling into an ambitious if emotionally tepid routine: work hard as a new pediatrics resident, plan her wedding to an older, financially secure man, keep her head down and heart tucked away. But when she runs into Elliot Petropoulos - the first and only love of her life - the careful bubble she’s constructed begins to dissolve.

While I love mostly everything by these authors, I was not that impressed by their last two books. I guess I’m just not into romantic comedies. This book was slow and anguishing and beautiful.

Im a fan of the authors but the story had no feeling to me. The narration was all over the place with the Irish accent and the ending just dragged on with ancillary characters and convenient friends at immigration. This could have been so much more as it was reminiscent of sweet filthy boy . It was an ok book but i know they can do better than this.

His love, Sutton Smythe, is the only person he has ever truly cared about, but as she is the CEO of the Bradford Bourbon Company's biggest competitor, any relationship between them is impossible.

Maybe I'm biased but I felt this book was kind of anti climatic for me. The story was good and things wrapped up pretty well, but I didn't like how she added new major plot twists at the end. It was a very blemished HEA. I can see how she left things open to write more books in the future about unresolved and new issues. That might be ok but I wont be waiting around for that.

When spontaneous and carefree meets cautious and responsible, falling in love can get just a little Twisted

There are two kinds of people in this world: the ones who look first, and the ones who leap. I’ve always been more of a looker. A planner. Cautious. Then I met Drew Evans. He was so persistent. So sure of himself. He made it easy to leap with him.

Did you think Drew and I were going to ride off into the sunset and live happily ever after? So did I. But life is about choices, and Drew already made his. In fact, he tried to decide for the both of us—but you know that’s not my style. So I came back to Greenville, to spend some time alone . . . sort of.

Because old habits die hard, and sometimes you have to go back to where you began before you can move ahead again.

I never liked sitcoms and this book is exactly why. They are totally unbelievable. I kept waiting for the story to start making sense because I really loved tangled but it never happened. I'm not quite done with the series but I'm definitely taking a break. I can't say that I really care about Delores and Matt at this point particularly because we already know what the end result was for them. If it wasn't for Jeremy York reading the epilogue, this would have been a complete flop for me.

Where does The King rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is one of the best brotherhood books in a few years. It took a while to warm up to the multiple plot lines in each story but I think it adds to the interest and anticipation for the next book.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The King?

The last 20 mins had me I tears for real.

What about Jim Frangione’s performance did you like?

Jim is the voice of the BDB series and wouldn't have it any other way.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Abso!
