Chris and Tanya have been assigned as Coven Rovers, travelling the country and troubleshooting the supernatural community. It's a job that's part cop and part auditor, one that should be long periods of boredom mixed with small parts of action. But this is Chris and Tanya, so a sudden assignment to check on a rogue vampire leads to a run-in with a hostile master vampire, a hit squad, monsters straight out of Native American folklore, black ops teams, and, worst of all, vampire politics.

I'm really enjoying this series. This one ended on a cliffhanger but the next ones out so I don't mind so much. The world building is really well done and I like the characters but the plot can be a bit thin at times. Still a good book with a good narrator.

More like 3 1/2 I don't know what to think. First off I don't read contemporary romance for a reason. It's too much realistic drama and in these books lots of screwed up people. There are enough of these walking among us. I don't find the pain relaxing. That said, I didn't hate it and some of it was good. It just felt painful. I don't know if I'd read another.

This was a bit like BDB especially if you listened to the audio. Tom was voiced by Jim Frangione who does all the BDB books and does a great job. All three narrators were did a really nice job.

What bugs me about this book is, when I started it, with an entire series in mind, I thought Anne the fire investigator would be the center of the series, My goodness the woman lost part of herself you'd think she'd rate more than one book, once I got through it though I'm pretty sure this all going to be about each of the guys who started out with Danny, and the women who end up with them. That bums me out. I'd rather it was a series about Anne with all the firefighters being part of the plot helping her unravel mysteries and finding romance along the way.

Good book and I can't wait for the next one. Because of time constraints I flipped back and forth between audio and digital, that said I liked the narrator. Really kind of a weird book but I liked it all the same. The ending has a good setup for the next book. Some really creepy characters and some that I liked quite a bit. The plot has a couple real interesting twists.

I'm going to go back and read his Witching Savannah series.
