The story starts off rather slow and after a good chunk of material you come to the conclusion that the Main suspect couldn’t of done it. You’re not quite sure whether that’s true or not but it’s where you’re at. Then the author introduces other possible suspects and that’s when the book really gets interest in many of the clues and fax earlier in the story come back to be important so keep them in mind. It’s actually in the end a very satisfying mystery. It’s also a good story about a detective who is on it’s last leg at the department and working on his last case – – although he doesn’t know it. I listened to the Audible audio version of this course and it was very good – – but I’m sure the streaming video version would’ve been better with pictures and charts maps etc. I’ve listened to two other courses on similar subjects at the great teaching course opus and this is a very good course. professor Garland is excellent teacher with good content and enthusiasm. I thought much of the course was exceptional and I especially liked the current application. I don’t think it was over the top or too much— in fact I think as the world moves forward— by understanding democracy as it was utilized in Athens as well as since then is very helpful in giving some context to the current political and social world we live in. I found the topics very practical and also informative. I would strongly recommend this course.

The Poems of T. S. Eliot audiobook cover art

Jeremy Irons narration is so spot on... to the tone, tenor and feel of T.S. Elliot's poetry that I re-listened to many of the poems.
Yes, it takes a bit of life experience to enjoy Elliot and yes, he writes from his time and from his insights and passions, but much of good literature and poetry takes some care and attention to digest..... still, it is so good the soul. Your life is richer for taking the time while driving in the car, in the kitchen, in the garage, out on a walk or sitting in a good chair by the fireplace. I strongly recommend this audible book. I have 200 plus audible books and this one ranks in my top 10.

This novel is as important today as it was 30 years ago – – maybe even more so. The near ration was superb. The content of course is as relevant today as ever. The concept of the wall and what it means on so many levels to wall in and wall out it's still poignant and maybe even more relevant given our current political social context in the US. I'd recommend it for any thinking person who cares about the concept that words and actions matter.

This novel was interesting and it had many twists and turns. Some of them were predictable but other parts were unexceptional and enjoyable. I think the narrator was exceptional in capturing all the different voices and nuances. Seems that this is the best novel out of the three but I would encourage it in an audible book for all three. Listening Makes the novel much more enjoyable.

An OK novel. I have read later novels in the series and they're better. It's a good start. Little far-fetched at points and it has an interesting ending. Many twists and turns along the way.for a mystery novel I can see why I was nominated for an award. One of the areas that I think could have use some improvement is the translation. Not quite sure it was always the best. Three out of four stars.

The narrator was superb. The story moves fast and is very informative and enjoyable. Best is the relationship of JA and his surgeon SM. I strongly recommend it. It's a guy novel and at points rather violent in old-fashioned way. The dialect and special language was not difficult to follow and again the narrator was excellent and being able to do multiple voices. You understood easily who speaking. Great novel excellent narrator good story.

This novel took a little getting used to. The Story would weave in and out and come back in upon itself. The author gave tiny little hints along the way which later grew into full-blown mini stories. These many stories were enchanting and interesting in and of their own right. This story is really a metaphor of the battle between the Saxons and the Brits. It is also many love stories interwoven into one larger story. The narration was good and helped the story move along.
