What disappointed you about Ashes of War?

The love scenes and the action scenes were short, boring and emotionless.

If you’ve listened to books by Lia Davis before, how does this one compare?

Sadly, this one and the first one in this series were the first that I've read by Lia Davis. I am afraid to spend my hard earned money and credits on any more of hers.

How could the performance have been better?

The narrator's got a great voice, I just wish that he'd use it better.

What character would you cut from Ashes of War?

I wouldn't cut any of the characters, I would just give them a different voice and more to do. They sounded bored and boring.

Any additional comments?

This series had some great potential.

What disappointed you about War's Passion?

The love scenes and the action scenes were short and emotionless.

Would you recommend War's Passion to your friends? Why or why not?

No.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

There is no emotion or excitement, he's got a great voice. I'm sure he's a good narrator... just not for this.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

It would be a good story... with a big infusion of excitement and steam, lengthier action and love scenes, and a different narrator.

Any additional comments?

This series had some great potential, but it turned out to be a big disappointment to me.

What made the experience of listening to Touch of Frost the most enjoyable?

S.E. Smith can't write a bad story. I'm waiting very impatiently for more of hers to be audio.

What did you like best about this story?

I laughed (out loud), was sad and happy. I wanted to cry in a couple of spots. Everything in one book..perfect.

Have you listened to any of David Brenin’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I haven't heard him before, but I enjoyed his performance.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes, but if I tell you, it'll spoil the story for you....just listen and see.

Any additional comments?

I have been checking and checking for this author to be on Audible. Finally... she's got wonderful stories to tell. I love all of her books and can't wait for more to come out in audio.
