Volumes one, two, and three of the Upending Tad series. In Loser Takes All, Tad's weekend starts out like any other; hitting a college frat party with a handful of buddies. But just as the evening hits its peak, things get up-ended fast. Ditched by his drunken, trolling friends, Tad winds up getting hustled by three jocks playing poker. Now, he's forced to pay his dues in the most outlandish of ways by spending an hour with his victors' favorite flogger, Scott.

I read book one via kindle but had absolutely no issue going back to the beginning and enjoying Scott and Tad’s story from the start. Warning: this is way better than a one handed read ;). The buildup and sexual release is delicious and will drive you crazy in a great way.

Five stars? Gah! Hardly!

I’m sitting here wondering how it’s possible that I listened to the same audiobook as those who rated this as a five. I was very interested in the plot and for the first 3 chapters, I was good (although the narration wasn’t good - sounded like it was recorded in a non-professional setting). After that, it went downhill fast. The actions and the reactions of the main characters was completely unbelievable. The writing - well I like this author and I wondered if maybe it was a very early book or if someone submitted it under their name.

Story
Blake Davis is in the closet. And he's going to stay that way. Because if his father finds out he's gay, Blake could lose everything he's worked so hard to achieve during the last six years as CEO of Trinity Publishing, the fastest rising star in the publishing firmament. Not that coming out wouldn't solve a couple of problems. Maybe then his father would stop trying to set him up with yet another empty-headed, social-climbing girlfriend.

Started Out Solid and then whaaaat?

First 2/3 oft the book - solid 4.0. After that, it was like the author wanted to rush through a particular sub-plot involving Blake's father...and then...the author wanted to prolong (painfully) another sub-plot involving a secondary character. Those two factors turned a very enjoyable book into one that left me feeling meh.

I don’t want Jason Vega. Not at all. It’s the worst idea ever. Ah, hell... Jason is handsome. Smart. Dangerous. Hot. He’s goddamn gorgeous - but he’s also sleeping on the street, hanging out with the local biker gang, and selling his body for a living. Our lives, our paths, couldn’t be further apart. I’m crawling toward the light while he’s falling into the dark. But it doesn’t matter how different we are or what logic dictates.

Lots of Angst

This is my first book by this author (audio or otherwise).
It's a m/m romance about two broken boys - Jason (a hooker) and Raine (the younger brother of a character - Ocean - from a previous book). Both guys have endured horrific childhoods but have chosen to deal with the pain differently.
I liked both characters however, the amount of inner dialog just about drove me crazy.
The sex is smokin' hot (have a fan near you).
Having two narrators worked okay here - would have been okay with just one too.

It’s day one of Darren Corliss’ career as a detective, and not only has he been assigned a notoriously difficult partner, but the guy might also be a pill-popping dirty cop. Internal Affairs needs proof, and Darren gets to be their eyes and ears whether he wants to or not. Detective Andreas Ruffner doesn’t play by the rules, and he doesn’t play well with others. With bodies piling up and a list of suspects who are way above his pay grade, the last thing he needs is a wet-behind-the-ears kid for a partner.

This is the first time I have read/listened to anything from this particular author. Had it not been for the audible romance package, I probably would have never tried it out.
The story involves two rivals who through chance, come together for a one night stand. It was a fantastic story - i only wish that it was longer.
Greg Tremblay - as always - gives a great performance here.

The last thing Jason West, an ambitious young FBI Special Agent with the Art Crimes Team, wants - or needs - is his uncertain and unacknowledged romantic relationship with irascible legendary Behavioral Analysis Unit Chief Sam Kennedy. And it's starting to feel like Sam is not thrilled with the idea either. But personal feelings must be put aside when Sam requests Jason's help to catch a deranged killer targeting wealthy, upscale art collectors. A killer whose calling card is a series of grotesque paintings depicting the murders.

West! Kennedy!
Reviewed: 03-17-18
After listening to book 1 I knew book 2 was an auto-buy.
What I liked: Kale Williams is fast becoming my favorite narrator. His voice is all sorts of things: intriguing, soothing, and hot as heck. I’ve already searched through audible to find other books he has narrated....
What I like part 2: I am in love with this couple. They are so different yet you can understand why they are drawn to each other.
What confused me for a bit: someone else mentioned in their review that West had sex with someone else and this seemed to not sit well. I get that however it was an important part of the plot and the relationship of West and Kennedy. Note: West was not cheating on Kennedy.
What irritated me: Jason West has a lot of inner dialogue with himself and at times I wanted to scream GET ON WITH IT!
Book 3 has recently been released (but not yet on audible). I’ll be warring with myself re: should I wait for the audible version or if I’m going to break down and buy the kindle version.

Dave Ballard is a tool. A high-level music exec with only one thing on his mind: getting ahead by leveraging the talents of others. When a coworker talks him into going to the middle of nowhere to scout a troubled singer, Dave thinks it will be an exercise in futility. But once he sees the mysterious silver-tongued Luca Wayne on stage, he changes his tune.

I love nothing more than a story about broken characters. Luka is a talented singer who is lost without his brother. His talent is obvious and A/R Director Dave is all about signing him until he isn’t. Luka is too broken. Too much of a risk. Luka sets out to prove him wrong and over time, we see that Dave isn’t nearly as put together as he seems.
I loved the journey. It felt right. A secondary character (Miles) was a little bit annoying and I’m wondering if there’s a book for him in the future.
This was a short audible book however it felt like just the right length.
I don’t think that I’ve ever listened to either narrator before and it took me awhile to adjust to the duel narrative approach.
Definitely worth the purchase.

Reviewed: 07-24-17
I enjoyed the first book however the second book from a storyline perspective disappointed me. While Ethan continues to be a reckless and naive Hoosier transplant (we knew and accepted this coming in) it is Max's change in behavior that disturbed me most. No one as business savvy as Max takes the risks that he took in this particular storyline.
Assuming Nick Russo narrates the next book, I'll most likely buy/listen.
