I'm kind of miffed that I listened to some writers praise this book... that's ultimately why I bought it. but I found it utterly boring... choppy and would not listen to it again. I'd permanently delete it if I could. I just kept waiting for it to get better. it read like a book sometimes and then like a play? why? it broke out of the story and started preaching to the reader or I should say selling... just totally hated it and was so disappointed. nothing really exciting or interesting happened.

I'd hoped I would have liked it but I just didn't. The plot was thin and I really did not like Veronica at all in this book, which really saddened me. She's always been headstrong and independent and I loved that about her but in this one, something was just off. I also figured out the plot and "who dunnit" right away. There were no twists and turns no second guessing at all. I was disappointed with the reading as well. I can usually distinguish who is talking but the men's voices sounded too much alike.

I didnt care for it for the first few chapters and almost gave up on it. it slowly picked up and became interesting. I found I had to relisten to sentences because she delivers a lot of key info unexpectedly. overall it picked up in the middle and was really good through the end.

I liked the mystery but didnt care for the ending

I found that the mystery was very good. I didnt really care for the ending or for the fact that Steele lied to Glass. I am still at times bothered that she is so stupid at times. I really don't like her nativity i guess. it makes her appear stupid. But I do like all the other characters.

this is my third time listening to it. Veronica is funny and engaging and who could not love Stoker the gentleman that looks like a pirate... the characters are so well developed and yet full of flaws... well done!
