Sanderson overdelivers on each subsequent book he writes, culminating in this magnificent magnum opus. The Kramers doing the narration are also great, delivering as well as readers now have been accustomed to. If I could rate this higher, I would.

The narrator performed excellently, with a rhythm and cadence that was most satisfying.

The plot and writing were also great, and I cannot wait to start on the next volume.

I love this story. In every character I find something I recognize, something that makes me go "I know him, I served with him".

The black company tells a soldier's tale from the point of view of a real soldier, not some author's idea of what a soldier ought to be.

Fun and engaging story, a compelling set of characters and a well thought out world building effort by Andrew Rowe. His writing from his first book has also improved quite a bit and now I just can't wait until his next release.

Because his writing just keeps getting better, even when you already think it's as good as it can possibly get.

These books always feel so very dear to me, and the finale does too, although saying goodbye to Nighteyes, FitzChivalry and The Fool is just so sad.

I just wish there was more, but then again I feel as though it finished just the way it was supposed to. Definitely recommended, it's well worth listening to.
