I love Mark Goodwin books, and this series was also awesome! But this last book in the series seemed a little rushed to me, and not realistic how Ava’s nemesis kept appearing. It might have been the good vs evil thing that Goodwin is so good at bringing into the light, and it went over my head? Still a great listen, but I was expecting more. But hey, I’m a landscaper not an author!

Political division in the US has reached the boiling point, and the second American Civil War is underfoot. A far-left socialist candidate has stolen the reins of power, and his designs against the republic are absolute. Ava's group pledges to launch an insurgency campaign against the occupying force in Texas, but will have to watch out for those who have been tasked with purging the patriots. Ava's team cannot fail in its mission to liberate Texas. If Texas falls, America's demise is all but certain.

I wasn’t sure about this series when I first saw it, but knowing and liking Mark Godwin’s previous series I gave it a shot. What an adrenaline rush, and no cursing or uncomfortable sex scenes. Just a joy! I hope to someday meet the author and shake his hand. I recommend this book to anyone that sees how this country has lost its moral compass. I also like the narrator very much.

America is on the verge of a second civil war, and Ava must pull it together if she wants to survive.  Violent protest, widespread destruction, and politicians who insist on letting the disassociated vent their rage will bring America to her knees, threatening to decapitate the laws, principles, and values on which the country was founded. Ava refuses to give into fear, but she simply cannot survive on her own. She must deal with her crisis of faith and learn to trust other people, or she’ll never make it through the bloodiest period of America’s history.

The only possible thing that could make Morgan's world even more difficult happened. The Japanese fleet off the coast of California was wiped out. An even that Morgan and friends and family only knew about because of the radio broadcasts from the Radio Free Redoubt. So far removed from them it barely warranted notice. That is until the Chinese retaliated by launching a nuclear counter-strike against Mac Dill Air Force base. This, did warrant their attention and had the potential to profoundly impact their lives.

In Avenging Home, we see how the long-running battle between Morgan's people and their number one nemesis plays out. While Morgan thinks this is the biggest threat they face, there are things on the horizon he cannot yet see that are going to dwarf these problems. Morgan has lived in a vacuum. He's had little information about the outside world. While he's used radios to listen to what he can, there's been precious little real information.

I have listened to all the books in this series. They are easy to listen to and descriptive but not overly technical. This book started a little slow, but as always it has you on the edge of your seat and saying it's over? by the end. I would recommend this book to people that are awake and aware of the possible future we could be facing.
