This story was great as are all of her books, but I really hope that she listens to the performance of her audible books. If she does, she will get sick and tired of her heroine saying, “Lane”. It is extremely irritating to listen to. I think that one word makes up about a third of her dialogue.

Sweet, sexy Ali has always revved his engine, but she's his best friend's baby sister ... and totally off limits. Ali's never seen anything sexier than Nate Weller straddling his custom Harley - or the flash of danger in his eyes when she tells him she's in trouble. First, something happened to her brother, and now she's become the target of a nasty organization.

This book would have been higher rated if not for the narrator. She was a good narrator except for one thing. All her male voices sounded like McGruff the Crime Dog. Very hard to get into a sex scene with that ridiculous voice of the hero. At times I considered quitting and asking for my credit back from Audible because it was so distractingly ridiculous. I continued on, however, because the story was pretty good. No more books will be purchased with this narrator by me, however.

I found this last segment of the Chaos series to be a little disappointing. It switched back and forth between scenes and characters so frequently that it was hard to follow. I know it was trying to tie up all the loose ends in the series, but it was very confusing.

They say I am a queen. They say I married a monster. That I did so willingly. They say he cannot die, that he does not age. That, together, we rule a ravaged world. They say I used to be one of them, but now I am a traitor. They say many things, all which I cannot remember, but.... I fear what they say is true. Then there is what they don't say, what I see in their eyes - the king terrifies them. He cannot be stopped. And, most worrisome of all.... He is coming for me.

If these books weren’t so good, I would have given up on them. I literally cringed to the narrator’s breathy, emotionless, monotone. More than once I came close to stopping on this second in the series. The first was irritating. The second was disturbing. If I can get through the third, it will be a miracle of teethgritting determination. I rarely make negative comments especially about the narrator, but this was truly annoying. As I said, I like the story but, had I known that listening was going to be a test of strength, I probably would not have chosen this series.

I listen to a lot of Audible books. I believe I have more than 400 these days. I can say uncategorically that this was one of the worst narrators I have listened to. He was so bad that I considered giving up on the book and asking for a refund. He overly articulated every word. He had very little emotional inflection in his voice. His attempts to vary his voice with each character was comical and juvenile. That being said, Cody if you just read out loud in a normal speaking voice and with normal articulation without attempting dramatic voice changes, I think there's hope for improvement. The story itself kept me plodding through. It was not stupendously wonderful but neither was it incredibly bad. Nice little story. I will not, however, read anymore books by this author, nor will I listen to this narrator again.

I have enjoyed this series up until now but this one just wasn't up to par. This author tends o be a little melodramatic anyway, but really? Lots of petty whining. "I know 2 people were just killed protecting me but I just can't stay inside where it's safe any longer!" "Father, I know that I destroyed my relationship with my oldest daughter when I refused to believe her when she told me how my exhusband who has been convicted of serial child molestation was molesting my youngest daughter but NOW my family is in crisis!" The narrator finally got to me this time when all female voices were breathy and helpless sounding reminding me of Marilyn Monroe or Jackie Kennedy. I wasn't able to finish it.

Fortunately a new case has captured her attention, one that involves a murder on the very grounds the team has taken shelter upon.

Where does Executive Seduction rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

The book was interesting and worth the money in itself, but the narrator pretty much destroyed the book.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Logan because he was a good guy who cared about her from the first. I tend to prefer heroes that pursue the heroine instead of vice versa. The heroine who gets involved with a man who can't decide that he loves the heroine is boring and unromantic.

How could the performance have been better?

I theorized that the problem with this narrator is that someone had criticized her about poor enunciation in the past so she rebelliously decided to exaggerate her enunciation of consonants to the point of ridiculousness. I FounD ThaT her eNuncIAtion was DisTracTing anD DETtracTing To The PoinT ThaT iT PreTTy MuCH DesTRoyeD The PleaSure of ListeninG To The BooK. I have known that a poor narrator has caused Audible to re-record the book and distribute the new recording to the customers that already own the book. I think that this should be the case here. I imagine this has to be done through the publisher but I think that Audible should pursue this with the publisher. Otherwise I think that they should return the credit or money to the customers.
