This 2nd book is just as great as the first book. It's got murder with a side of Lavender coffee. Roxie is at it again with a surprise visit from her mother. I like how the author left the recipes to the end of the story. I was better prepared to write them down. Who knew an exotic chicken could cause so many problems. Ms Madeline delivered a stellar performance yet again. I get so wrapped up in the story it's like I'm actually a member of the community. I look forward to continuing this series. This book continues the Alcott saga. The only thing I didn't really care for is how the author kept jumping storlines. I would start to get into 1 storyline and then it would switch back which caused me to take longer to listen to the book. I kept loosing interest. I'm not one who enjoys a lot of back and forth story lines in books and movies. The narrator did a great job and I look forward to listening to her work again and again. This is such a great series even though I’ve only listened to the last 2 books. I like the concept of blogging for food! The author and narrator pair well together. I got so wrapped up in this story, at times, I forgot to get things done around the house. I love female sleuthing stories, especially when they just kind of fall into it. I really loved the homeless guy Marion and his way of life. Josie got on the right track when she decided to visit the mansion to try and find answers. I’ll admit I didn’t expect the truth about Mary Claire. I’m bad at remembering names if I got that one in correct. Selfish people in a selfish world, lend creadence to the ending of this story. Well this was certainly an interesting story. A cat fitted with an RF chip that uses a device called a rubber ducky to track. Hmm I found this pretty interesting. Walt and the gang did not disappoint as they worked their way through the crimes. This series is too funny at points. The author and narrator, again pair perfectly together to bring out the best of this story.

This pair works well together to deliver great content and a pleasurable listening experience. I’m really going to enjoy this series. Roxanne has ties to this community that brings her back after her life turns upside down. She walks away from being an attorney to open the Bean Hive Grind a speciality coffeehouse. The only thing I would change about the story layout is to move the sharing of recipes to the end of the story. Roxanne has to put her lawyering skills to use to clear her aunt from a murder she didn’t commit. Roxanne reconnects with old friends and an old love as she gets ready for the honey festival. She acquires a dog and helps to find other pets homes during the festival. She gets too close to uncovering whom is the murderer when she’s run off the road; did her dog know the culprit? Come join the community, kick up your feet and dive in. I received this book free of charge in exchange for this voluntarily review I have left.
