I was there enough that I can feel the effects of adrenalune. Holy smokes. That was an engaging story - I loved it! I have book 3 downloaded and ready to - tomorrow morning on my hour plus commute. I need to rest now, what an endfing.! Story telling doesn't get any better and that also goes for the narrator. With a thousand words Pierce Brown creates worlds deeply layered with wonderfully developed and nuanced characters and surprises at every turn.

Blue Sargent has found things. For the first time in her life, she has friends she can trust, a group to which she can belong. The Raven Boys have taken her in as one of their own. Their problems have become hers, and her problems have become theirs. The trick with found things, though, is how easily they can be lost. Friends can betray. Mothers can disappear. Visions can mislead. Certainties can unravel.

I am three books in and have been loving it, turning my horrible commute into the great escape. I am new to the work of this author and I am in awe of her storyrelling. I feel like Noah, a ghost watching my friends, these magical characters , come alive, in full, in my imagination. It''s been a grand adventure! I am so looking forward to book 4 and her other works. 5 star story telling. The audio book voices were also worthy of a 5 star rating.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend to anyone wishing for total immersion into the imagination of a highly skilled story teller. This is one great story!

Who was your favorite character and why?

The main character is of course my favorite, but all characters are complex and very well developed with highly interesting POV and motivations.

What about Nick Podehl’s performance did you like?

The narration was great, no complaints only praise. His character vocalizations worked for me!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, but not possible as it is 30 plus hours long. Made my freeway drive time the highlight of my day. I would listen at home too, after the rest of the family went to bed.

Any additional comments?

Hurry and finish book 3! I hope you put book 2.5 in with book 3 as I can' see spending a whole credit for 3 hours of story. If not, I may buy 2.5 on Kindle and just read it for a few bucks.

Set in Hong Kong in 1963, the action of Noble House spans scarcely more than a week, but these are days of high adventure: from kidnapping and murder to financial double-dealing and natural catastrophes - fire, flood, landslide. Yet they are also days filled with all the mystery and romance of Hong Kong - the heart of Asia - rich in every trade...money, flesh, opium, power.

I have read and listened to all of Clavell's books and this one, along with Shogun and Tail Pan are among my all time favotites.. This book made horrific Los Angeles traffic a joy - 3 hours a day . I couldn't wait to get into the car! So sad when it ended. I'll do it again in 10 years.
