Blood of Heroes audiobook cover art

It's just feels so... vanilla

I've listened to three of these books now (obviously) and I just don't feel it. It feels unimaginative and bland, and the narrator (whom I love in other series) makes annoying charicatures of the military voices that honestly detracts from the experience.

I also feel like the books are waaaaay too short, like they're cut short just to sell more books. With sped listening time it's like 6 hours per credit.

Kate reading remains one of my favorite narrators, and the story is interesting. However, half of chapter 50 is missing, and what I assume to be fanfares between cd's in the original production aren't removed in edit.

Chapter 50 has a few important plot points, and it gets really confusing a few chapters later when you notice something's missing.

I loved the earlier books, and I love this one. However, it feels like he had to split the book (which is the case), and the end result suffered. I'm super excited for the next one though, hopefully this one got a lot of setup out of the way.
