the narration was stilted and stiff and cumbersome. It almost sounded like a robot was talking. It wasn't smooth at all. the narrator made it very difficult to listen to the book because of the multitude of hesitations and rhythm of sentences.

The only criticism I have is that details were missing from the writing. like how did Jeff get Kittie back to New York when she was in the coma. things like that. how did the doctors revive her? did she bring the book back with her that jogged her memory. did her other possessions survive the trip back in time. etc. looking forward to reading the rest of the trilogy. really like the narrator on this book. usually men don't do so well. but he was great.

Donna Hatch writes a good story but it is marred by the narrator in this book. The narrator could not assign different voices to different characters, and read fast--diff not pause between characters speaking. So, at times it was hard to tell who was saying what.

I have not liked any romance books narrated by a man. Men, and in particular this narrator, cannot master a decent romantic woman's voice. They all sound like childish, overly excited immature girls. I hate it. And this story was overly simple, for teenage girls not mature women. There was no emotional trauma or deep conflict to over come. I was quite bored. I could have enjoyed it better, however, if the main character's voice had been better.

The narrator could not keep track of her accents, and the voices she gave to the two main characters were horrible. The voice of the man, Edmond, was not virile, and the voice of Amelia was childish, not sexy and sophisticated. The writing was awful, as was the non-development of the characters. a poor and simplistic plot. I bought all four books in this series and dread listening to the other three.

Barbara Langley writes a good story, but she could improve on her sexual encounters. Shelley Thacker is the best there by painting beautiful scenes with colorful descriptions. Use of words like "clit" and nipple and such are a real turn off and mood breaker. Otherwise, it was an enjoyable book and look at life in the past.
