It’s thrilling to read or listen to something so well written. Frankel is a true wordsmith and Gabra Zackman, a mesmerizing narrator. She has an easy, unselfconscious, wonderfully versatile interpretation of the characters that was a perfect complement to a beautifully written story. I would have captivated by the use of language and the performance regardless

Just finished "What Alice Forgot". So Good! I don't know if I've ever felt so "in" a book-not just into-I got completely lost in it, like she was me..or I was her. Felt like it changed me as it changed her. Made me want to be a better person. Author has great way of making things seem so real. When it ended It took awhile to re-enter this time & space, like when you don't want to wake up from a dream that seems so real. I liked the narrator too-that's just as important with an Audio book.

A waste of time..and patience

I may not have given it enough of a chance but I couldn't get past the introduction of the characters in the first couple chapters. I don't know if it was the writing or the narration but the characters were grating and repugnant. I started it and couldn't get into it so I stopped to listen to another book, which was wonderful. I didn't have another book to start yet so I thought I'd give it another chance. I tried to listen just now and it was so grating I decided to cut my losses and delete it from my library

The story was engrossing, reminded me a bit of The Secret Keeper, but it was the narrator who kept me hypnotized. She totally became Iris for me, and yet separated the other characters seamlessly
