Outstanding book. I have listened to every one of Ken Follett's books on audio and this one ranks at the top. It kept my attention from the very beginning. The intertwining of the families was beautiful and easy to keep track of, even on audio. Just listened to it again in anticipation of Book 2 this week and enjoyed it even more the second time. Keep writing, Ken! Narration by John Lee was excellent as well. He and Davina Porter are the best narrators I have heard, by far.

This started out as a very good book, characters were unique, story line(s) interesting, it kept you interested with twists and turns. Near the end, as one story line was wrapping up, I very much expected the second one to be resolved, but it never was! There was no indication it wouldn't be resolved and I had every expectation to solve the mystery. I was very disappointed when the book ended without a resolution. Boo!!!

Powerful and mesmerizing

What a tremendously well done audiobook. The narration was spot on for the character. The story itself is beautifully written. This is one the more enjoyable reads I've come across in awhile.
