The Society is the fourth book in the Ascension series by K.A. Linde. This book is in no way a stand-alone instead it contains a storyline that is so elaborate and fascinating I honestly have no idea how she keeps making it better every time but once again I am in awe of her skills.
Picking up right after the desolate ending in - The Consort - Cyrene and her crew have a mission to fulfill and need to find a way to reach a land where no one they know of has ever traveled. There is great danger before them and every obstacle you can imagine but Cyrene is determined to save the people of Emporia from a fate worse than death.
Many mysteries were answered but a few still remain while Cyrene gears up for the final fight.
There is not a YA paranormal series I would recommend more highly than this one! I really would give it more than 5 stars if I could - it is that darn good!
As far as narration Erin Mallon is flawless as a multitude of characters! She truly astounds me with her talent!

Returning home for her father’s wedding was never going to be easy for Adele. If being sent away at 18 hadn’t been bad enough, the mess she left behind when she made a pass at her dad’s business partner sure was. Fifteen years older than her, Pete had been her crush for as long as she could remember. But she’d misread the situation - confusing friendliness for undying love. Awkward. Seven years on, things are different. Adele is no longer a kid, but all it takes is seeing him again to bring back all those old feelings.

While I liked the story I didn’t love it and I wish this author would realize she could use someone other than Andi Arndt to narrate her books!! AA has done every single one except for Chaser but I’m guessing that was because it was in the male POV! Variety is the spice of life...sheesh

Dylan Culderway is more than hockey’s top defenseman. He’s the kind of guy who’s always there to help a friend. Plus, he’s a true gentleman. More importantly, certainly to the ladies, is that Dylan is hot enough to melt ice. Dylan’s no womanizer, though. He doesn’t have time for love. Seems he’s too busy running away from his past. Or is he running to his past?

S.R. Grey’s - Boys Of Winter - series follows the Vegas Wolves hockey players as they fall hard and fast for the women of their dreams . Dylan’s story was no different as he fell for Chloe except this book had a lot more angst then the others and hit you right in those emotional feels.
While I freely admit I tend to lean heavily toward the dual narration, I must admit Reagan West does a great job with both the male and female voices. I love this series and can’t wait for Jaxon’s book next!

People who know me will realize that I am in the minority of folks who do NOT run out and buy everything that CoHo writes but I decided to give this a go on a recommendation and it is hands down the best thing I’ve listened to in a very, very long time!

It's a long story, but I messed up at work. Big time. To earn back the trust of my boss, I promised to save one of our magazines. Yep. That Hot Dad contest you've seen advertised all over the place was my idea. And if I'm successful, if I'm able to increase our online readership, then I get a shot at my dream job. But the one thing I never expected to happen, happened: Contestant number 10, Grayson Malone. Hello, Mr. Difficult. And did I mention sexy as hell? Unfortunately he knows me. The old me, anyway. I remind him of before. Of the woman who broke his heart....

He’s my most delicious secret. The hot Suit I had a one-night stand with one evening. I didn’t know anything about him, not even his name. Only that we shared a taxi, and he was staying at the hotel where I worked. We met in room 301. Where he commanded not only my body but my soul. The next day he was gone and I only had a memory of him. I could still taste his kisses, feel his demanding touch. I searched for him for months. Daydreaming about him. Wondering if I’d ever find him.

4 stars for - Mogul - by Katy Evans. While technically not labeled a series the heroine in this story is the roommate to the heroine in Tycoon and their storylines run almost parallel to each other so you will recognize a few people if you’ve already read it. A filthy rich billionaire and tons of insta-lust are prevalent in this book but for fans of the trope it won’t bother you one bit as this author tends to write one heck of a delectable man.
Sara Davies is a dancer with dreams of performing in shows on Broadway but she was sidelined because of an injury. While healing she took a job at the prestigious Four Season's Hotel in New York where she caters to the privileged and elite as concierge. Coming home from vacation the need for a cab from JFK airport and a little bit of fate put her on the path to meet him that day but it was her job as concierge that turned it into something so much more.
Ian Ford is a media executive that travels all over the world filming. He just so happens to be in New York when a rather pushy woman hops the lane and forces him to share his cab. Once he realizes her destination things start to look up and he decides to have a little bit of fun with her.
I have long been a fan of Ms. Evans writing and this book is no exception. The characters were well written and intriguing with real issues surrounding their lives and love. Navigating a couple's very real/intense issues while still keeping their relationship incredibly loving and sexy is a gift only Ms. Evans seems to possess.

4.5 stars for - Combust - book two in the Everyday Heroes series by K. Bromberg. Combust does stand-alone completely from - Cuffed - the first book in a series about a trio of ridiculously gorgeous, but equally jaded brothers that protect and serve a small town in California.
Dylan McCoy is a songwriter in Los Angeles who needs to get the heck away from the bad boy rockstar who just broke her heart. She calls her big brother and he suggests that she stay with one of his oldest friends since he’s rarely home and has the room to spare. Thinking she will barely interact with her roommate she is taken aback by just how outgoing the man is during their first introduction. That mixed with how easy he is on the eyes might make this a very interesting stay in wine country.
Grady Malone is a firefighter and that’s all he’s ever wanted to be, with everything that happened, the last two years of his life have been so hard for him to deal with. Grady knows his friends and family have all been trying to help, but they can’t understand that even he doesn’t know how/what to do anymore and it’s only made him feel that much worse. So when Dylan shows up with her beautiful curves and enchanting music he is captivated in ways he’s never been before. Not only does he find a friend but he is finally starting to heal too.
This was a beautiful story of love, loss and acceptance that pulled all the emotions from me in only the ways this author can do. With such charming and fascinating characters in both the main and supporting roles I literately devoured this in one day. With only Grayson’s book left to go - I have a feeling she’s saving the best for last!

4.5 stars for - Thrive - book two in the Guardian Protection series by Aly Martinez. This book can be read as a stand-alone, but book one - Singe - is one of my most favorite books of all time so you know I absolutely recommend reading it too! Fans of this author are in for a treat as we get to see many characters we know and love make an appearance in this book. Honestly, I wasn't really looking forward to a second chance romance since this has never been my favorite romance trope, but the way Aly brings these characters to life in her stories - I can't help falling in love.
Mira York has spent almost twenty years wondering what her life would have been like if she chose a different man all those years ago. The man she married betrayed her and left her practically destitute when he went away to prison. Now that she can finally see light at the end of the tunnel her ex-husband has placed her in danger once again. The only person she can turn to is also the last person in the world that will ever want to speak to her again, but Jeremy is her only hope of getting out of this situation unscathed.
Jeremy Lark is the oldest member of Guardian, but don't you dare tell him he can't keep up. He dresses and acts the part of a gentleman, but if you threaten someone he cares about he will come after you with fists swinging. His job and twin daughters are his entire world so when a phone call comes into Guardian from the very last person he ever thought he would hear from again he is shocked and angry in equal measure. The one woman who shattered his heart is in a world of trouble and needs his help...
Another epic romantic suspense that kept me glued to my kindle from start to finish. I love everything about this series from the broody, bad boys with issues to the people they ultimately end up falling hard and fast for. Can't wait to read Braydon's story next!!!

4.5 stars for - The Way We Rise - book three in The Story Of Us Trilogy by Cassia Leo. Every question will be answered and every issue will be laid to rest in the last book in this beautifully written, emotional roller coaster of a series. Houston and Rory are sticking to their friendship in order to let the dust settle on all the emotional turmoil they have experienced. Whether or not they ever become more seems to be what every one around them is hoping for.
Rory is initially at a loss with what she wants to do since her book is gone, but her father creates a very heartfelt and meaningful job for her by opening a center in Hallie's name to help other girls in need which is one of many steps to make amends for all that has happened over the last seven or so years. Houston is back at work in the brewery (Barley Legal - best name ever by the way) doing what he can to maintain a sense of normalcy while he and Rory forage this new path.
Everyone around both Rory and Houston rally together to finally get these two where they need to be and it's nothing short of spectacular. In writing only Ms. Leo can deliver these characters blossom before your very eyes throughout the series. We are left with a beautiful love story of two broken and scarred individuals that healed with time, tenderness, and lots of love. Then just when you think that's it there is a fantastic epilogue that is told from multiple POV's that delivers on all the questions. This is one series you don't want to miss.
