Storytelling has come of age in the business world. Today, many of the most successful companies use storytelling as a leadership tool. The reason for this is simple: Stories have the ability to engage an audience the way logic and bullet points alone never could. Whether you are trying to communicate a vision, sell an idea, or inspire commitment, storytelling is a powerful business tool that can mean the difference between mediocre results and phenomenal success.

I found this book to be a great source of thought provoking ideas, actions and insights. I like the beachball concept - it has helped me become more thoughtful in dealing with people who operate very specifically in certain functions. They often have a very specific and focused view. Understanding that view can really enhance the dialog possible with them.

Overall just taking a new perspective on conversations as described here has been extremely helpful in improving my overall relationships in every aspect of my life.

Gladwell begins with the real story of what happened between the giant and the shepherd boy those many years ago.

Loved this book and how it showed with facts the impact of her ideas. It all seems like common sense but, like most common sense we miss it. This book details the virtuous cycle of behaviors impacting beliefs and beliefs impacting behavior.

I've been recommending it to everyone especially my kids, both in college and surely surfing a case of I don't belong here

Read it! She's terrific

In The Outsiders, you'll learn the traits and methods striking for their consistency and relentless rationality that helped these unique leaders achieve such exceptional performance. Humble, unassuming, and often frugal, these "outsiders" shunned Wall Street and the press, and shied away from the hottest new management trends. Instead, they shared specific traits that put them and the companies they led on winning trajectories: a laser-sharp focus on per share value as opposed to earnings or sales growth; an exceptional talent for allocating capital and human resources; and the belief that cash flow, not reported earnings, determines a company's long-term value.

Great book that helps change thinking and perspective about how to define and measure success. Well read but the numbers are better when seen, hard to make complete sense of the story just hearing numbers. Not the fault of the narrator just that part of the book does not lend itself well to audio book delivery

Would you consider the audio edition of Start Late, Finish Rich to be better than the print version?

I think it was a good audio but due to the numbers and analysis I found the two together to be a more learner friendly approach.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Start Late, Finish Rich?

I found the portraits of the typical millionaire very interesting and compelling.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Michael Kramer?

Yes I would. I thought it was well done

What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?

The latte factor for one, just how little changes can make big differences over time

Any additional comments?

My only comment is in reference to directly reading the tables that show growth of investments over time, it's easy to see in the print version but doesn't translate well to audible presentation.
