I love the way this author moves from scene to scene, first with one set of characters, then another set of characters, with ever increasing odds and heightened tension. You cannot help but root for Zoe and Pete. This town is so real, the characters feel like neighbors. Continuing with the next book immediately.

A strong sense of historical time and place, extremely appealing well-rounded characters, and lots of intrigue. There's action on every page, but it's also beautifully written. Romance, political shenanigans, and a great mystery. This author added to my do not miss list. If you love Phryne Fisher and Amory Ames, this is highly recommended.

Create an intriguing premise, combine a brilliant writer like Anthony Horowitz, and you should have a great read. Not this time. Horowitz takes center stage in the opening chapters, creating a narrative that sounds more like a documentary on his career than a mystery. Then we are introduced to one of the most detestable characters ever written, and he's supposed to be the hero? Made it to chapter 7 and the homophobic rant and quit reading. Deeply disappointing.

Known for her unexpected twists and turns and deep insight into the human heart, this is Lisa Scottoline's most emotionally resonant novel yet. This is a powerful exploration of moral responsibility as well ss what truly constitutes justice. Sometimes it isn't what we do, but what we fail to do; a moment of selfishness, thoughtless, failure to take personal responsibility, that has a reverberating effect on the lives of others. If you don't read another book this year, don't miss this one.

Delightfully whimsical and historically sound, two things that almost never coincide. Peppered with fascinating anecdotes. If you are interested in the era or are simply curious, this work provides a cultural insight to time period. Five stars to Stephen Fry, who treated the material with the perfect blend of playfulness and sobriety.

Stephanie Plum is back, and while all of her adventures are saucy and fun, Evanovich has found an original and intriguing premise. One by one, the managers of a local deli are disappearing, leaving behind one shoe. Who is the next in line? You guessed it, Stephanie is the new manager. Vinnie has confiscated the business from a skipped felon, and Stephanie and Lula have to keep it going. Kidnapping, murder, and lots of condiments, to go please. If some rough language and some sexual situations offends you, this is not the series for you. But, it's all in good fun. So, put on your seatbelt, you're in for a wild ride!
