Waking up in Vegas was never meant to be like this. Evelyn Thomas' plans for celebrating her 21st birthday in Las Vegas were big. Huge. But she sure never meant to wake up on the bathroom floor with a hangover to rival the black plague, a very attractive half-naked tattooed man in her room, and a diamond on her finger large enough to scare King Kong. Now if she could just remember how it all happened.

OMG!!! I forgot how good this book was!! I read it once before, and I remember liking it, but I don't remember LOVING it. This will definitely be one of my regular re-reads/listens!! I remember this being the first book I had listened to narrated by Andi Arndt, and just loving her voice, and the way she didn't just read the story, but actually acted the story, and the emotion in her voice. The story has just enough drama to keep thing interesting, but not so much that it's annoying. Just a great story all around!

At least not anymore. She hasn't seen that boyish face since the day he left to go on tour with her brother Joey's band. Now, with a major record label backing them, the band is in need of a bit of help, and when Joey asks Skylar to be the band's photographer, she can't help but say yes. Of course, Joey doesn’t know about that forbidden kiss. So... This book was pretty good and so was the narration, the story was just kind of slow.

The narrator was good, but it seemed almost like she was reading in an empty room. Not exactly an echo... kinda hard to explain.

There was no major climax or really any major drama, which made it kinda hard to keep me interested. It was a good story, just not much going on. I am definitely not in the majority with my opinion because soooo many other people rated it 5 stars. Like I said, good story, good narration, just kinda slow.

This book was pretty good! There was a lot going on, and it was not the typical romance I would read. There was a sort of mystery aspect to the story, which I felt kept it interesting. Also, there were a lot of things that had to happen to get the two main characters together, and even though some parts were a little too "Hallmark Movie-ish", it was still a great story.

As far as the narration goes... GREAT! I'm not usually too big on duet narration, sometimes I feel it's a little hard for me to get into, but the team that did the narration had the best chemistry and worked sooo well together. Later, I found out that they are actually partners in life, as well.

No guy has ever been able to get me off. It was my little secret. Until I accidentally told the whole world. Spilling something so humiliating on my social media is bad enough; I never expected anyone to actually message me about it. Especially not someone as smug and sexy as Heath "O Maker" James. He tells me he doesn't just think he can get me off - he knows it. As hot as he is, he's a total stranger. I shouldn't give him the time of day.

They call him The Mute for a reason. Hard, cold, and calculated, he rarely speaks. When he does, it's with disdain. When he does, his words aren't meant for me. When he does, my stomach flips and my world tilts on its axis. He is 33. I am 18. He's a single dad and my father's business partner. I'm just a kid to him and his enemy's daughter. He's emotionally unavailable. And I am...feeling. Feeling things I shouldn't feel for him. Trent Rexroth is going to break my heart. The writing isn't just on the wall, it's inked on my soul.

If anyone ever said being an adult was easy, they hadn't been one long enough. Diana Casillas can admit it: she doesn't know what the hell she's doing half the time. How she's made it through the last two years of her life without killing anyone is nothing short of a miracle. Being a grown-up wasn't supposed to be so hard.

I LOVED this book, and the narration was fantastic!! I don't think any other narrator could have done Mariana Zapata's character justice, other than Callie Dalton.

Now, about the book. This is the second book I've read by Mariana Zapata (the first was The Wall of Winnipeg and Me), and after reading this one, I have no idea why I haven't read them all. She is a fantastic writer. I love the slow burn of the story, and when they finally get to the hot parts, THEY ARE HOT. Haha

I will absolutely be re-reading this book on the regular.

P.S. At some points, I read along while listening to Audible. There is a small part towards the end in the audio version that explains about the toolbox, that is missing from the Kindle version. This has been a question I have read in a few places on the internet.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I am usually pretty easy as a critic, and unfortunately (in this case), I am one to always finish a book, but this book just seemed to drag on, and on, and on, and on... The 2 main characters just seemed to have no flaws, and there wasn't really any ups and downs in the story. I honestly, just wanted more from the story.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

Just as expected, very predictable ending. And I am not saying that as a bad thing. I don't really mind a predictable ending when it comes to a romance novel. I want a happy ending

What aspect of Paul Woodson’s performance would you have changed?

His performance wasn't all that bad, I just didn't think that his voice fit the story. He actually has a great voice, and I would listen to another story with him as narrator. When you have a story about an ex-con that hangs out with a bunch of bikers, I expect something deeper, more gravely.

Any additional comments?

To me, this story almost felt like something you would read as fanfiction. Writing was good, but the story just seemed so... picturesque at times. I'm not sure if it was the narrator and the fact that I didn't think his voice fit with the story, or the lovey dove unrealistic story line, but this book just didn't do it for me. This was my 1st book by this author, and there are more by her that I would like to read/listen to, hopefully, I will enjoy them more.

This book just did not do it for me. the narrators were horrible, the characters were childish, and there was no big climax to the story. I am never this negative about a book, but this audio version was a small form of torture for me to finish. I never stop a book in the middle, that is the only reason I forced myself to finish.
