The narrator was good enough, but the writing was poor. The author would probably do well at a pub quiz in history and crime categories, but the book is littered with juvenile similies, clumsily-conveyed trivia and flat, lack-luster characters. I find myself, in turns, irritated by it and apathetic about it. I will swerve this author in future.

an American should have edited the story as too many UKisms kept popping up - it's a little jarring. Plot and development were okay, not terribly original. Character development, again, was just adequate. Meh. The voice actor did what he could with what he was given, though some of the voices were ennervating. i am normally quite fond of Stuart MacBride's stuff, so I won't let this deter me.

Good premise, mediocre writing and performance.
the author's descriptions are weak there is a marked overuse of typical expressions which suck the power out of the words. Also, there is a problem writing the women's characters. They are bland and lack distinct personalities.

I was ready to like this book and couldn't do it. The characters were dull and unrelatable. They were too many of them to give them any real distinct personalities. I suffered through the first several chapters with nothing to dig my teeth into in terms of a plot. I gave up and will be returning the book.

But hitching a ride to Anchorage with long-absent pack member Caleb Graham - that's a risk. Part of her itches to whack his nose with a newspaper. This particular download is basically an advertisement for the program. I did also download the first and second parts of the real program and those are good, but I'd skip this if I were you - it just takes up space.
